So far the SanDisk seems to do the trick. I downloaded the manual to see how to load podcasts from iTunes and it worked! I will have to get used to having the contents listed on the screen; this seems more convenient than the Shuffle's audio menu.

Good MP3 player

It does exactly what you need it to do and was a perfect way for our child to get her tunes without a phone/smart device. The only complaint would be there isn't an interface to load your songs, just straight file transfer.
