Great MP3 player with one problem

I used this to go jogging and it worked great for several months then I thought it suddenly died. Couldn't turn it on or anything. Was about to return it when I went online and found that all I had to do was reset the thing. Apparently it happens frequently. Once I got it to start working again, it was great but SanDisk could design a more stable product that doesn't shut down frequently which may be mistaken for a a nonworking product.

This is my 3rd SanDisk player and so far this is a great player for listening to music, audiobooks, FM radio, and more. Highly enjoyable.

Bought this for my little brother when his broke. He's only 13 and just needed something for long car rides with my parents. Great for the radio and his own music.

    Radio Fail

    Posted .

I was quite happy with my purchase of this Clip Zip, as it was easy to load music on, it worked well, including the FM radio. The good reviews on this site were spot on. My only complaint, initially, was that the ear buds were too big too fit comfortably in my ears. Or, I suspect, in anyone else's ears, either. After one week, the Radio stopped working. I took it back to the store, and got a replacement clip zip. The MP3 part was working fine, by the way. Two weeks later, the replacement radio feature puked. I'll keep it as an MP3 player, but I still want a radio. The only unit that I would trust now would be the pricey Apple Nano, and I don't think I want a radio that bad.

The clip makes it easy to carry at work. She can page ahead/back just by feel, without looking at it.

It holds every song my daughter can dream of owning. It is available in purple, which is a must. It stands up to teenager abuse.

Better than iPod for the Money and Sport

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I tried to use iPod for running and they did not last long due to the design does not resist water (sweat); the touch pad allows moisture in than non-touch or keypad players. This player is cheaper, has better headphones, and is more resistant to sweat. It does not have a lot of memory to hold a many audio books but you can buy a card to increase the capacity. Note: You will need to upgrade the software. This model does not allow you to lock the buttons to prevent accidental input. The previous versions had this lock but not this model; very strange. However, you can download new software and gain this capability.

I have no complaints here. Although this updated model is smaller than the old Sandisk models, the scroll feature through the menus is excellent. I'm also satisfied with the clip-on feature. No need to place the device in a pocket all the time.

    Good product, but still disappoints

Price is great, plays great, no problems no matter where the song came from (cd rip, download, copy etc.), doesn't seem to be affected by accidental dropping but I could be wrong, easy use, easy setting adjusting, could hear well through the earbuds though I like regular headphones anyways & purchased some only using the buds as backup, lots & lots of space. The only huge problem I'm getting is the battery life. The fair rating is bc of this as endurance of the battery is everything for me personally. It's not lasting anywhere near the number of hours the box & manufacture claim (15 hours) & i've charged it very very long both through the computer usb & a wall outlet. Also screen brightness/timeout/shutdown time is the lowest setting. I listen to it almost 24/7, but some nights I won't & when I get up in the morning it says only 1/3 or less of the battery was used, but then dies before my bus reaches my destination 1hr later. I don't listen to it 2-15 hours straight, unless it's as i'm falling asleep, it's in intervals through out the day that usually add up to about 2.5-3 hours max, but for some reason when I think it's fully charged it will still die after claiming the battery was more than half full. Not sure if this has anything to do with it dropping, but I haven't often dropped it, there's been no liquid exposure either & this problem has been ongoing since I took it out of the box really so I wouldn't think dropping had anything to do with it. Maybe it just has a funky battery that needs to be replaced before 1 year intervals go by. The radio feature is also kind of pointless as the stations don't always work, I rarely ever use this feature or the voice recording, my main thing is mp3s/wmas etc.. Other than that it's an excellent product for the price.

Ear buds too large for my ears

Besides improving the ear buds, % batter life should appear on the screen. Anxious for Neil Young to put his improved audio, Pono, on the market. Glad the price of this MP3 player has gone down.

Having lost my nano 5g, I was loathe to buy the new 6g for so much money, so saved $$$ on this. It's okay. Very cheesy compared to my 5g. The screen is very difficult to read in the sun or with sunglasses. (Impossible with sunglasses) The Rhapsody software is pathetic, so loading podcasts is a pain. The firmware is also pretty awful. But it's cheap, and when I can afford it, I'll get a new nano (although I HATE the touchscreen). My ipod touch is too big to slip in my pocket for my long hikes or bicycle rides and I hate the screen lock (takes forever to unlock), but when size isn't an issue, I'll use my touch.
