I went a head after reading the reviews and got this one which is bigger than the one I thought I wanted. Well worth the little extra to get the 8GB

    Does not last

I bought an 8 gig Sandisk MP3 player last year, and it quit on me after a few months. I took it back and Best Buy replaced it. The replacement quit in a few months also. It worked OK while it lasted, which was not long.

I love this mp3 player for my nephew! It is easy for him to use even though he has cerebral palsy. It is a work horse, as he uses it everyday!

Too basic, no playlist import capabilities.

We bought one 12/6/14. It doesn't have video capability, contrary to other reviews. You can NOT IMPORT playlists from Windows Media Player or Itunes. In order to create playlists, you have to do it manually one by one using the device and "add to GoList". You'll spend weeks attempting to add music. If you want to access any songs from the Micro SD card instead of the internal memory, you'll need to specify the card. It doesn't shuffle the entire device. Headphone input is on right side of unit, power input/data transfer is micro USB and on the left. I anticipate the clip breaking within a few months, tops. Brittle plastic, but trying to be optimistic. Spend the extra $ and buy the 16 GB Sony Walkman MP3 player. No expandable memory, but capability for importing playlists and ease of use (based off past experiences) is better.

not great but inexpensive and serves the purpose

I had lots of music in iTunes and Windows Media Player. I wanted to load just a few items and most loaded correctly. When I tried to load a 2 disk album, the player "fused" both disks into one jumble so the album made no sense. 2 longer mp3 files loaded correctly into the Sansa library but only played correctly if the Sansa was plugged into my laptop. On the player, the Sansa player "flashed", skipped the files and moved to the next song. The radio is fine, and I love the clip. I used better headphones. If you need help, Sandisk's tech support takes a LOT of work. However: I had lost my more functional old ipod nano at the gym, so this was an inexpensive, functional replacement though it can be a time consuming hassle to get more complex things to load correctly.

Got my 1st one for Christmas. Didn't work. Got error message, website said its defective if that message appears. Returned it for a new one a week later. Loaded my 2nd one with songs and it froze up and all songs are gone. It doesn't play well with a SD card either. Got error message and unrecognizable message after that. Thank goodness, Geek Squad protection was purchased. Hopefully I am able to purchase a different better MP3 player. Very disappointed in this product and shocked by all the good reviews. I wouldn't even rate this item with 1 star.

    Great device, useless earphones

    Posted .

I've had three Sansa Clips over the years. Obviously, I generally like them. However, unlike the past, this updated product includes cheap, annoying and virtually useless earphones. Despite every effort, they don't stay in, even if you're just sitting still. And they are harmful to your eardrums. If you buy this product, plan on having to buy a pair of earphones. When I contacted Sansa about the earphones, they simply blew it off and said, "we don't manufacture the earphones, so we make no effort to stand behind them." Other than that, the mp3 device itself works well.

    Goes Psycho

After less than one year of ownership, my Sensa Clip Zip has made me feel like I need to find an exorcist specializing in electronics. This thing is seriously possessed. Went completely psycho on me--started out with it arbitrarily turning off (with a full battery charge) then not playing anything, then shuffling through everything at lighting speed without settling on any song. Now it just sits there looking stupid. I tried looking for new firmware and there isn't any. I didn't even use it all that much and have NEVER dropped it. Do not buy this. Get the Sony. I wish Panasonic made something like this. They have much better products. Have not been able to get any troubleshooting or product support from Sansa, either.

    Player keeps locking up

Worked fine for about a month. Now on a routine basis it quits playing. None of the buttons work except if you hold the power button down for an extended period it will reboot......usually. Today, quit playing, most buttons did not work but power button would shut it off. Turn it back on, does same thing. Rebooting was difficult because it would turn off but if I held it down when I turned it on, it sort of seemed to refresh. It would still be on the VOLUME screen and I could not play or change anything. Turned it off finished my workout threw it in my bag. Tonight I tried it and it came on. Works but for how long? Took it back to Best Buy said they only accept returns for 15 days. Filed a replacement request with San DIsk....will see how that works out.

Songs play in alphabetical order by default

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought this mp3 player to replace my 2 yr old sansa clip which died unexpectedly. While getting ready to go to the gym I loaded about 7gb woth of albums (CD's) onto my player. When I went to play them by going to music-->albums--><title> the songs were listed alphabetically. when I played, the songs played in alphabetical order. In consulting the sansa help forums, it appears that the only way to play songs in the order they appear on the album or cd is to create a playlist. As of 4/10/14 there is no firmware fix. Note that I use windows medial player to synch my device and download music to it. the forums also suggested renaming each song so that each starts with the number representing the order in which it appears on the album. To me this is too much work and is indicative of a design flaw.
