I purchased this product to replace a Sansa Clip from like 10 years ago that I lost. I thought I would get a suitable replacement with this product, but I was disappointed. I use the product primarily to listen to radio while walking to work and there was a good amount of background static (same stations and same routes that I walked with my previous Sansa which had perfectly clear sound). The size of this is bigger than the old model which I did not like, but wouldn't consider a dealbreaker. However, the sound was a dealbreaker, so I returned the product.

I loved my previous Sandisk MP3 player before it was dropped in my morning tea (opps!). I expected to love the sport but I am ready to throw it out the window. I mostly listen to books but the sport will not load the chapters in order so you start the listening to chapter 8, then 2, then 5. It also in the middle of a song or chapter it just randomly skips to another song or chapter for no reason. The company "is aware" of the problem but has not solution.

The repeat podcast cannot be turned off. This is incredibly annoying. Purchase anything other than this. The clip+ and clip zip were much better.

I drop these clip san disk almost every day and they don't last but one year with that kind of a beating. I have been through two in 3 years. Fortunately the put them on sale.

After only 3 months it no longer works. None of the controls work. I can't shut it off, can't tune it to music or podcasts I wish to listen to. It's a piece of junk.

My previous Sansa was able to categorize my songs by genre. Not this one. Hoping a software update corrects this.

Too overpriced for the size. Although it works great, its not worth all that money.

I bought it to transfer ripped book on tape cd's and listen to them,which I had done for years on sansa clip and clip Zip without problem. Now this piece of junk puts them all in one big file,with all track no's together(all 1's together,then all 2's etc.) Also ,every time I plug it in to my computer I have to repeat setup options-language etc. Sansa-please fire the folks who discontinued the clip Zip,and came up with this horrible "innovation". Then just keep selling the clip Zip,(older clip zips are being sold by questionable internet dealers for $100)

The good reviews you see on this product are likely from people who never owned the older versions. I've owned several of the the older ones and have worn them out. They were all great little devices. I didn't hesitate to buy this version when my last one bit the dust. The battery life on the Sport is less than my older ones. When the battery get low on power, the unit starts to refresh it content, and you have to restart your music or whatever you're listening to. I'd rather have an older version than three of these. I'm sure that's why the older ones have jumped in price, if you can even find one. Sandisk has really dropped the ball on this product.

Everything about this player makes it ideal....with the exception of the lack of a Lock button. If you brush against the controls when you are running, things change. I normally clip it in my pocket...the folds of my shorts cause it to change. The only place it seems to work for me is if I clip it outwards on the neckline of my shirt. I emailed the manufacturer and they confirmed that this feature does not exist. Because of the lack of a lock button, do not purchase this product.

What a piece of junk. Lasted 3 months and now won't hold a charge- if you try to charge it then it gets hot but does not charge. Don't waste your money. BB should just give refunds on cheap items like this instead of making you send them in to get them repaired/replaced. Who wants to go through that on a cheap item? And I wouldn't want another one anyway. Last time I will buy Sandisk or from Best Buy.

I do not recommend this product. The radio broke within 2 weeks & best buy wouldn't take it back because I didn't buy extended warranty and it was just outside the return period. The sound quality is not good and when the radio did work the reception was terrible and in limited areas. I sent it back to ScanDisk on 4/25 and 3 weeks later the new one still as not shipped to me. I had a Phillips MP3 for years and it never broke till just recently just wouldn't charge anymore. Unfortunately, they don't make them anymore.

I'm ordering my 4th Sport Clip mp3 today. Two of them died. I love the design, but they die easily. Am I stupid? Probably. But I'll give 'em one more try.

I was looking for a good, quality 8gb mp3 player for under 100 bucks. I thought I had found it in this product. It turns out, that I was wrong. The loading process alone took forever. At least, I thought I was loading it. However, when I went to check to see what song were on it, I was surprised to find that ten songs out of the 200 songs I put in managed to get in. To make matters worse, now it's playing the same one song over and over. This was a piece of junk. I will never purchase my MP3 players from here again.

Sound quality is fine but it often takes minutes to open an audio book. Response to commands (pushing buttons) is extremely slow too, and if you think you did not push it correctly, don't do it again or it really messes up and you wait another 2 or 3 minutes for the device to respond. Also, have to periodically reset to factory because the audio quits altogether on FM radio. This is far inferior to prior versions.

Sandisk Clip does not work with the micro SD Card a BestBuy rep sold me. There is no excuse for selling a product that does not work. The rating given this product here is distorted. The product is worthless. It never recognized the SD card and when I googled it, it is clear that the problem is pervasive, and this product IS NOT EXPANDABLE.

It gets very warm when charging on PC/wall outlet; Memory Card slot is terrible - disc read error on ALL memory cards used. Can't play ALL MUSIC; but plays an album at time which was alright, not recommended while driving long distances.

Locked up the first time I used it. None of the buttons would do anything. Had to wait for it to die. Also, could not figure out how to have it shuffle music on device and card. Felt cheap once I got my fingers on it. NOT worth the $50. Returning it ASAP.

The battery life on this mp3 player is absolutely terrible. I charge it all day and the next morning, poof, no charge. I've had this thing for less than a year. What's the point of a portable music player if you have to keep it plugged in? Garbage.
