Radio Went Mute After 3 Minutes. Returned It Next

It wouldn't even produce static. Returned it the next day. I opened the box. Tested the radio. It worked. I found and listened to a few stations, then, after about 3 minutes, the radio quit putting out sound. Tried a bunch of things but no joy. I could manually tune stations. The unit could automatically find stations. It allowed me to preset stations and delete preset stations. All the different capabilities of the radio feature worked except the sound. I tried different stations. Raised the volume all the way up. Lowered the volume all the way down then back up again. Made sure the headphones were plugged in really good. Tried new headphones. Restarted the unit. Toggled the audio settings from normal to high. None of that fixed the radio sound loss problem. When I switched to the music player, the unit put out sound w/out problem. It even sounded good, however, it just would not make any sound when in Radio mode. Returned it the next day. Didn't get any questions or pushback.
