This is great if you have a lot of data you need to take with you, just don't expect to be able to throw a high quality HD movie on there and run out the door in 5 min. This thing is on the low end of 2.0 speeds. Other than that, it's exactly what it says it is.

When I plugged the drive into the USB port and couldn't copy approximately 40 GB of data, this 256GB USB Thumb Drive only shows 41MB when I click on Properties. I checked other thumb drives I have in the 32GB range and they indicate the correct amount of memory. I attempted to re-plug the drive in again to double check and the lock that holds the plug out and in place isn't locking; just sliding and a real pain to try and insert into the USB port. VERY POOR !!! I may have gotten a lemon, but so many issues right out of the blister pack doesn't bode well. Since I registered it as soon as I opened it, I will complain directly to Sandisk and see how they respond.

They try to trick you. It says USB 3 on the front but it is really only USB 2. If you need speed, don't be fooled.

First time out, the drive crashed, pc is now unable to read it

Bad product never could setup. From start to finish I could never get the flash drive to accept a password. Not worth the money I took it back to BestBuy for my money back.

Device was write protected straight out of the package. It made the flash drive a useless paperweight.

Sandisk apparently makes the most compatible USB Flash drive. I have many, I mean MANY other brands in my possession, and I have found that older devices such as Blu-Ray and game consoles do not recognize the other drives, only Sandisk. With that in mind, I bought this 256GB monster when it came up as the deal of the day. As expected it works with my devices and now I have a TREMENDOUS amount of storage available to them. I previously was using a 32GB model, so this is leaps and bounds better. Even though it's a USB 2.0, the performance is perfect for what I 'm using it for...

It does everything you want a flash drive to do and then some. What's truly great about it, however, is you can load it with a boatload of movies and connect it to a device capable of running as a either a file server or a DLNA server (such as a modern mid-range or high-end router), and you then negate the need to leave a PC running as a home media server.

If you don't care about performance (USB 2.0) this is the best offer for 256GB capacity.

I have many flashdrives and found that the PNY drives are considerably faster than any of the others. By quite a bit. I have found that the SanDisk are about the slowest flash drives.

This works very well. I have since purchased several more to data storage and recovery drives. I haven't had any problems with them like I have with other brands in the past.
