Got this on sale and I put everything on it. I actually used it to transfer data from form computer to another. Fast, not as fast as 3.0 but still pretty fast. Only downside is that is it small, very small, easy to lose. If you do not remove it from your computer or tablet you probably wont have a problem.

I bought this to be a permanent backup solution for important files on my laptop- fits flush so I can leave it plugged in when I take my laptop with me. My speed test shows about 20 mbps, but in reality it seems to be slow with large files but faster with small files. I have the 16 GB version in my car for MP3s and it's been reliable. Overall I'm happy with this but I do wish it were just a bit faster, and it's a bit pricey, but overall a good solution for a permanent backup solution.

It is definitely small! My wife gave me a month to loose it, it took 3 days. Worked fine while I had it just a little on the slow side, not as slow as USB 1 but not full USB 2. Fine for backups but I don't think you could stream a movie off of it.

2 April 2014 Update Started having problems again with this Fit. I have two and both are unreliable. I am a tech and need a drive I can go to to access applications, files, etc. We undated to Windows 7 where I work because of the life support issue with Window XP on 8 April 2014. First day on the job left the house with my files (Windows 8) and got to work and nothing detected. Called support, they had me copy my files with Windows 8 O/S then formatted Sandisk Fit and copy files back. It worked at home but will not work at work. Why do I know? Neither of the Cruzer Fits worked at work but they work at home. Go figure. Put it in a Mac system at work and all the files were in tack. Conclusion. Because of the dog and pony show I just went through with Logan I will NEVER own a Sandisk product again. It is a fact when you make a living in technology that a product is no good if you cannot depend on its performance. My next choice will be PNY. I have owned a few of these and had no problems or had to deal with the frustration of trying to get a product replaced under the two year warranty. It is worth it NOT to use Sandisk products and find a brand that I can deal with. End of story. FYI. Don't believe me Google this, "Cruzer Fit 32GB not working on Windows 7." See where you wind up. Yep Sandisk's website and the frustrations other people have had with it working on other O/S but not Windows 7.

This flash drive is ideal for my use; permanently plugged into my old laptop with a 40 GB hard drive. It is good for seldom used data and backup files. It is slow when copying a lot of files or booting Linux.

    Too slow to be used.

Insanely slow write speeds...just a bit over 4 MB/sec. Read are average. Swapping a new PNY and then a new Kingston 16GB USB drive into the same port and copying over the same files gives nearly 10-11 MB/sec write speeds. These are just a few I had on hand... Wanted to use this as a small removable laptop storage space but no chance. Should have realized when the packaging didn't show the speed anywhere that my future would consist of me spending hours copying files over instead of minutes.

It works as expected. Reads/writes with USB 2.0 and 3.0. It is missing an "activity light". That is why 4 stars.
