Piece of junk - don't waste your time!

There is a reason this SanDisk USB drive is so inexpensive - IT IS JUNK! I opened the package, plugged it in, and a message pops up that the drive must be formatted before I can use it. OK, even though Sandisk claims that all their drives are preformatted, I could live with formatting it again. When I tried to format the drive, windows only recognizes it as a 64.0 MB drive - doesn't matter which file system you choose - there is no option available that recognizes a capacity larger than 64 MB, I waited on hold for 20 minutes before I could chat with SanDisk tech support and they told me it is a common problem and the drive is defective. I could submit an RMA and wait 3 weeks for a replacement or I could return it at Best Buy. SanDisk makes garbage products and they know it. This is one of them.

Misleading Packaging - This is a USB 2.0 only

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Bought this to back up a large number of files. The packaging states 'Compatible with USB 3.0 and USB 2.0' which is technically accurate but is misleading as it only operates at USB 2.0 speeds. While the website listing makes it clear that it is USB 2.0 only, the physical packaging in the store does not. Will be returning for a proper USB 3.0 compatible drive.

Not Bad for USB 2.0 - For the price i got it, everything looks okay except it is not USB 3.0 - A bit slower.

    Not really 128 GB...more like 119 GB

Only 119 GB are available. There are 9 GB of files used by SanDisk? Why??? Call it a 120 GB but not a 128 GB

Do not buy USB 2 flash drives

I like the storage this drive offers, but not the speed. USB 3 drives are coming down in price. Buy one of those instead.

    Not USB 3! Very slow

How can you make a 128GB flash drive and not consider the size and the time it take to read/write. They tried to cut cost and ended up giving this piece to us.

    Slow

I have been a fan of SanDisk for a very long time and own many of their drives and SDcards. Lately I've been frustrated by the lack of performance in their drives. This drive in particular is extremely slow, my flash drives that are over 2 years of age are 3 times faster. The average writing speed on this drive is 17mb and read speed of 32mb. It defeats the purpose of having a large volume drive when I have to wait several hours to copy a few video files.

DEAD after 1 year of light use

Barely used the drive. Copied a few files to it a year after buying it and then it died. No warning - nothing. Tried on other computers as well. Doesn't power back on. Won't buy these ever again.

    Slow

I only get 8 mb/s transfer from this USB 2.0 claim. I don't see how they can sell something that slow when advertised USB 2.0/3.0 compatible. If I could give less than 1 star I would.
