If you don't need the extra speed usb 2.0 works fine and saves you money. These are great storage usb drives and would recommend them to anyone. I always format them befor use and since I'm running Windows 10 on my pc I formate as NTFS.

San Disk drives are durable and last a long time. No problems so far as I have been using it for a month now. None of my SD drives have failed -- I have used San Disk drives for over ten years.
