    Pricy, but great capacity

I purchased this large capacity flashdrive so that I could store and carry all my files off the PC (I have only program files on the PC). This way, if I change PCs -- say, between my work PC and my home PC -- I always have my data files with me. It also means, if my PC crashes for some reason, my files are not lost. Anyway, I have been very pleased with the performance of the SanDisk Cruzer 64GB USB Flash Drive. I was able to do exactly what I wanted -- pull all files off the PC and on to a portable drive I could carry in my pocket. The form factor is a little more bulky than other flash drives, but the design is simple and functional. It's a little expensive, but the capacity allows you to really carry just about everything. My only real complaint is the software that SanDisk insists on preloading on the drive. Every PC will now recognize a device when you stick it in a USB port, and I don't want help in "managing my files"... I can do that fine through Windows Explorer. I can only assume the software is intended to help people who are completely baffled by all the "new-fangled computer stuff", but I find it more convoluted and confusing. I mean, if you can't even work Windows Explorer, you probably should just go back to using pencil, paper and a calculator. ;-) SanDisk, leave the silly software off...

    FAT32, Not NTFS

Got this from Best Buy due to it being on sale. 64GB...I can do alot with that, right? Wrong...I use lots of files larger than 4GB and FAT32 does not allow downloads that large....only NTFS, which this is not. So....I'm returning it for something that will handle 5 to 10GB files. I mean, what's the point of a flash drive that only allows files to be added piece by piece? Isn't large data transfers of whole folders the main point, ie. having ALL your files/programs with you vs your computer??? Oh, and by the way, don't try to format the flash drive to NTFS as I did. Due to the U3 security programs on this, with them gone you will end up with a piece of plastic that the computer will consider is full, unaccessible for any purpose, and too light to function later as a paperweight.

What can I say? It's a flash drive. Nowadays, flash drives are certainly reliable means of saving data. You pretty much cannot go wrong with any flash drive you purchase, provided it has enough storage space to meet your needs. Sandisk is a well-known brand, and I see a lot of people using them in the Information Technology field. This flash drive comes with useful security software that allows you to "lock" files into a vault, which requires a password for access. This is extremely useful in the workplace environment, and gives you peace of mind if you happen to forget your flash drive. I purchased the 64 GB model of the Cruzer Glide, which is more than enough for my needs, as I am a college student, and have been using a 4GB drive in the past. I'm sure this is a great flash drive, and it has a good form factor: big enough to hold on to, with a retractable USB drive for protection.

I've got several USB flash drives, both from Corsair & Sandisk with considerably large capacities. I've bought the Sandisk Cruiser 128Gb for the back-up of essential files. Though the drive has a large capacity, the speed of the drive is not satisfactory, as 6 to 7 Mb/seconds write mode and 22.5 Mb/seconds read mode. The fastest flash drive I've ever used was a Corsair Flash Voyager Mini 32Gb, which exceeds 20 Mb/second write & 35Mb/seconds read capacities. So if you're looking for a huge flash drive but no performance Sandisk Cruiser 128Gb might be the only choice. But if you need some performance & a speedy drive I'll propose Corsair Flash Voyager Mini 32Gb. ( The first test result of the Sandisk Cruiser: 12Gb ( 12,500 files ) transfer from a high end computer will last about an hour ! )

    Great on non-Mac system

My reason for purchasing this was the included security software. I wanted to offload files from my MacBook Pro and put them in a lockbox that I could carry around my neck. I had to download the MAC version of the software (no problem), load it onto the device (likewise), and run it from the flash drive. I created the lockbox and moved things into it but couldn't get them out again--BIG problem. Because of this I have used the device as a 'sneakernet' tool but even when copying files to/from the non-lockbox section the response is extremely slow compared to a 4200RPM Portable HD. On a minor note, I found it impossible to attach a lanyard to it making it easy to lose track of and thus easy to lose.

Holds a lot, but can't use for image bkup of Win

On special sale I bought this 64GB Flash USB to take a first system image of a newly loaded Win 7 laptop (programs/data). After reformatting FLASH drive to NTFS from eFAT, backup still would not work. Tho there was enuf space, I found out Win 7 Backup program cannot place files larger than 4 GB in size onto a FLASH device. Only an external hard drive or DVD's (very slow process) will work. DVDs/CDs work because special techniques are used to break files into small enuf pieces to span multiple disks, to later be fused together upon restoral. This does not diminish usefulness of this FLASH USB. It can store oddles of data, movies, pictures, etc.

So far so good but it's memory so it should be OK. Never had any issues with any SanDisk memory so I am hopefull that this situation will continue with this stick also. Love the large capacity. It's the largest stick that I own so I don't have previous experience with 64 Gb but I assume that it will do as good a job as the 2, 4, 8. & 16 Gb SanDisk sticks I now own. Checking around this was about as good a deal as I have found. Paid $59.99 for 64 Gb. Less than a dollar per Gb, that's pretty good value in my book. If issues arrise I will update my review.

Already using the SanDisk. Not a tech savvy person but pretty much using it to transfer information, copy files, to store and retrieve data and save digital voice recordings. What I also like about the feature is being able to slide it in and out. Amazingly, this is the second purchase at best buy that has worked for me in more than 12 years! I am pleased right now with my purchase and hope it last for years without losing any of my information. By the way, I don't usually travel around with it.

    Great, rugged flash drive

I bought this flash drive during Black Friday sales to handle some massive spreadsheets that I was building. I've made fairly heavy use of this drive, taking it back and forth between work and home computers on a daily basis. The reason for this review, months later, is to give credit where credit is due. In a boneheaded move on my part, I recently left the flash drive in my pants pocket and ran it through the washer and dryer. It fell out of the pocket while in the dryer, and I was mortified when I opened the dryer to see it laying among the clothes. I just started testing it, and it survived without any data loss that I can detect and works just as it did before being run through my washer and dryer.

    Decet External Storage Option

I lucked out and purchased this item on sale for $15 (current price is $49.99). While it was a great deal, the speed leaves a bit to be desired. I'd recommend using this only as a document/pic backup option, or even as an emergency startup device. I performed a Time Machine backup to this device, and it took a painful 2.5 hours on a new, clean install of 10.13 (before iCould signin or any app installs). If you have option of the current full price, invest instead in an external SSD, which you can get for a little over twice the price and 8x the storage.

8 or 16GB FLASHDRIVES ARE NOT BIG ENOUGH

I guess there are still uses for 8GB and 16GB Flashdrives but nowadays if you need to transfer a lot of data or photos than you need larger capacity. For my photo transfers from an old computer to a new computer I felt confident that this flashdrive would be more than sufficient and it WAS! Flashdrives are so small and most are usually black and can be misplaced/lost easily - wish they came in cherry red, shocking pink, or neon green so you can't lose track/sight of them so easily. We've found several other drives at the bottom of purses, in wallets, shirt/pant/jacket pockets, kicked in a corner of the floor, etc. An iridescent color would help spot these small lost drives.

    Great Value & Storage Space

This SanDisk 64 GB USB 2.0 flash drive is a great product for personal use. The 64 GB provides enough space for transferring videos or large files to other devices. However, due to the flash drive being only USB 2.0, it may not be the perfect storage device for those looking for frequent file transfers. This is because of USB 2.0's slower speeds as compared to using a USB 3.0 flash drive, which has faster transfer speeds. For the average user though, this product is worth the value and has enough storage space with average transfer speeds. Its durability internally and externally also makes this flash drive resistant to minor impacts.

I got this so I could copy large movie files to watch using my blu ray player's usb port. Since most movie files are very large, this comes loaded in a format that won't allow you to copy over large files without formatting it to another sub system. Which is very easy to do... however if you have a Sony blu-ray player, it doesn't support that system. So I pretty much am screwed. I ended up having to plug it into my laptop, and then connecting said laptop thru a hdmi directly to my tv, which really defeats the purpose. Also, the plastic casing it is set in is not durable at all and cracked coming out of the package.

I received this as a gift for Christmas - 64 GB USB thumb drive. I was planning on using it for a restore drive for my new Surface Book. Technically you can use it, BUT Windows will re-format it to FAT and only allow a max drive size of 32 GB, thus eliminating half your storage. I was able to reformat it back to NTFS after doing some Googling. It was not a simple or intuitive process to get the space back. I will end up getting a smaller drive for the restore drive and keep this for extra storage. Also, it's only USB 2.0, so no USB 3.0 speeds on this one. Not bad space for the price though.

    Worst Product of the Year

While it should be simple to use a flash drive to transfer files - (returned one of these as it didn't seem to work) got a second and it fails over and over and over. Can't even get 1 GB to copy let alone the 64 GB. Tried both on 3 computer - updated San Disk software - just doesn't work. Should be awarded worst product of the year award - this should be a simple thing to use, but it is JUNK. (Thought I had a lemon - Best But was great and replaced it - but 2 lemons - I don't think so - So much for the prior quality of SanDisk - won't ever use their products again and will spread the word about such a rip off)

I've used these reliable drives for a couple years. They have proved to be the easiest way to take my latest photo images with me when I want clients and businesses to see what I am currently up to as a professional artist / photographer. They are particularly handy to carry with me for unexpected opportunities to share what I do with anyone who crosses my path when I'm out in the world running errands or going to social activities as well!

Initially purchased to use as Window's 10 repair disk. However, that task ended up only needing under 500meg storage so used a much smaller flash drive. Now I'm currently using the 64 gig flash drive to capture a sizable amount of data from my desk top to use on my laptop while house sitting for my brother. Just leaving the data on the flash drive for now and up dating the flash drive is saving a lot of time trying to copy back and forth between the Hard drives of the desk top and the lap top. Saving to the flash drive seems to be quite fast. Very pleased with purchase.

I have three of the USB Flash Drives; two active ones and one back up. They may not be the fastest drives out there, but they are very reliable and are fast enough for my needs. I highly recommend them as a way to organize files and to back up your work. They also come in handy on weekends when I need to take work home and don't want to clog up the hard drive on my home computer - just put everything that I need on the Flash Drive and access it as necessary.

Recently bought two of these to back up a bunch of pictures. The price was really good, got them on sale. While the first one worked great, the second one was DOA out of the package, and since it had taken me a while to get the first one filled up, I no longer had the receipts. So it was off to the trash with it. I have used a lot of these drives from various vendors over the years, first time for that! I assume it is the exception rather than the rule, so I still recommend it at the price, but check them out ASAP while you have the receipt!

If you are buying a USB 2.0 stick, you are either looking to buy a cheaper stick or looking for backward compatibility for devices out there that still need USB 2.0 and/or FAT32 partitions to be able to read data. Well, this one scores on one point i.e. the USB 2.0 but 64GB is not FAT32-able, well not quite. It is exFAT which we are assured is the same thing, but it is not. So unfortunately it did not work for the purpose I bought, but Best Buy took it back. Hope this is useful for someone else out there.
