I have lost 4 years and 100's of hours of work. The drive had zero abuse, was well-cared for, and there was literally zero reason for this fatal error. I can not retrieve the data on the drive, write new data to the drive, or even open a file from the drive. Less than 100gb have been used. The on-board Sandisk software is useless as well.

I/O error can't format, faulty chip, useless.

Then one day I downloaded a large zip at 23GB. After trying to unpack it I got I/O read errors, and the folder became corrupt. I was able to move 450GB of data off the drive to backup on the Samsung 1TB I also have. But the corrupted folder on SanDisk 1TB was empty but not able to delete. I tried to format it but Windows 11 said it could not format. The chips are fried! I cannot use the drive or format now.

Looked it up on line and can't find any direction. I can't use the item so it was a waste of money!!!

The money spent on this Drive go me way more than I would have gotten if I had purchased a higher configuration.

I bought this to install my mac os on and use it instead of the internal 5400rpm spinning disk hard drive. It's only been a day but it works flawlessly and is super quick. It's like having a new computer again. My mac was never this fast even when it was new. If it holds up to the test of time and last a long time i'll be using nothing but these from now on.

I was done in about less than 5-6 minutes. Not sure how. It has great write and read speeds and worth every penny. Feels sturdy and I dropped it a couple of times and it seems to be ok.
