If they fail you lose data/files/photos. Sandisk is generally bulletproof even after their takeover by Western Digital. I've owned dozens of Sandisk cards, SSDs and even MP3 players. I had one card fail ever. This card worked instantly, it's fast and I trust it to hold up over time.

Lots of Memory

I wanted to make sure that he had enough memory so that he could take video he while skiing with his friends and not have to worry about deleting anything because he ran out of memory space. It has enough storage capacity for all the video he could ever want to take, as well as lots of pictures!
