    SD Card cannot be read......

Just returned from a trip to the Riviera Maya, in Mexico and had a file corruption on the second day of my trip. I was unable to use this memory card for 6 days and lost a couple video clips and photos in the process. First thing I did after purchasing this memory card was format it to my camera, with my camera (not on the computer). Took a bunch of test shots and everything was working fine. Fast forward to my trip and everything started great. On the second day however I was trying to take photos of the sunrise and my camera locked up on me. It says that the SD card could not be read and it needed to be taken out or reformatted. Obviously I took the card out multiple times but it did not work. Put my standby 32gb SD card in and it worked fine. After my shoot I took the SD card to the lobby of the resort I was staying in and tried to open the card on their computers but it did not open. Returned home and tried to open it on my laptop but again, it still would not open. I ended up having to install an SD card recovery program which saved most of my photos but none of my video clips and a nice chuck of photos were still corrupted and or damaged. I will upload a couple photo to show you how the card killed some of my pictures .....

Bigger Memory for Large format photos

I always look at whats on sale at Best Buy for memory. I shoot photos and prefer to use Raw and jpeg files for those photos that I am shooting that I may plan on reproducing. I don't use Raw for regular snapshots. You can never seem to have enough memory and Raw files for current cameras can be over 25+ megs. Certain memory cards are more expensive based on their speed. If you are shooting multiple shots at once, such as for sports photography, then a speedier memory card may be in order. Otherwise, regular fine art photography doesn't necessarily require the quicker access speeds. You may be a photographer who finds that important, such as when shooting portraits of babies or small children where getting that perfect smile or pose is illusive and you must fire away to catch one just right. I found this card to be fine for my regular phone requirements and 64gb is a nice sized card that eliminates the need to change it out. I normally start out with an empty card and have never really found myself shooting more than 64gb at any one shooting. Having the extra card allows for quick shooting if another card is nearly or partially full. For the cost of memory and this one specifically, its always great to have an additional card available and on hand for any number of devices that use this sized card.

Don't think there is much to review on a memory card. The capacity is obvious 32g, 64g, etc... the driving factor behind these memory cards are really the read and write speed. Keep in mind the read and write speed limitation of your equipment. If your equipment is writing at 30-40 MBs you probably dont need a memory card this fast. Its like buying a Lamborghini to drive it in a neighborhood where the speed limit is 25 mph. Besides that, this product is working as described. I bought it for a digital camera - transfer from camera to card is excellent (writing to memory card when taking pictures & recording videos). I cannot comment on transfer from camera to computer or card to computer as i don't have a card reader on my computer (ordered an external one - not here yet) as for camera to pc - the software limitations on the camera is slow - which is not the fault of this Memory card. But the read/write speed of the camera does reflect good performance from this chip. As, a matter of fact, I bought them on sale and regret buying only 2. I should've bought 6-8 of these babies!!

This storage card is fantastic. I honestly can't imagine how a storage card could be any better than this. I popped into into my camera and started snapping away– that's all there is too it! It stores my photos. I took some photos of the Brooklyn Marathon a couple of weeks ago and I took fast bursts of RAW photos with no problems whatsoever. This card got the job done. And the capacity is so great– I don't have to ever worry about having a enough space. I can take this with me on a trip and just shoot away. I think it's a great card for someone who is shooting lots of photos in RAW format. Just don't lose it. My last card went into my vaccuum cleaner which is why I got this one. I haven't vacuumed since which is why my place is getting pretty dusty. Keep this card in a safe place-- namely, in your camera or in a camera bag or something. Don't just leave it laying out.

Bought two 64 GB cards. My camera has double card slots. The cards write quite fast and do not hang up if I shot at a nice deliberate pace rather than machine gun style. I discovered that if I shot with single frame format the card would let me record at least 4 to 5 frames, then would freeze. I tried the turn off/on method, but still did not solve my dilemma. I multiple frame selection and the same problem persisted. Either shoot slower and more selectively or choose the SanDisk Extreme cards. That would give you at least 6 or 7 frame rate before locking up. This is my situation. Your may be different. I don't know! But Shoot with Extreme SanDisk card and the freeze lockup should be less. I hadn't realized but this may be the problem with many digital camera, I'm not sure. A photographer at work let me use his 2G SanDisk card and my shoot rate was 6 to 7 frames before freeze up, but a second later I was able to continue shooting again. Still the rated was 6 to 7 frames per but freeze time was less and I could shoot with a smaller interruption. Selectivity key word.

This card is noticeably faster. It also has more space than I could possibly fill up with pictures and movies, so I don't need to change to a spare memory card as often. I noticed one of the negative reviews and want to remind you to check and make sure this card is compatible with your camera. This is a high speed card and some cameras can't handle it. You buy a card and test it before taking on an important vacation or photo shoot. You also have more than ONE card to depend on. If this card works with your camera, you can afford to buy more at the fantastic price!

Great Memory Card With Fast Read/Write Speeds

I purchased this on Black Friday for a deep discount. I have a 32GB version of this card and it performs extremely (no pun intended!) well. I recently purchased a new camera from Best Buy on Black Friday, so I decided to purchase a larger version of the the 32GB card, which is this 64GB card. SanDisk makes a nice product, and when these cards are on sale they are well worth the investment should you need one (or more). I'm a casual user of my camera, so 64GB is more then what I need, but will give me the opportunity to take some video, as well as still shots. For the right price (not retail), this is an easy recommendation!

    Sandisk: quality, speed, and reliability

Not much I can say here as SD cards are pretty much commonplace now, but Sandisk's cards (in my experience) have been the best, most reliable cards I've used. I've had one bad card in perhaps a few dozen from Sandisk, and to me, that's not bad. This card is also fast, writes up to around 70-80MB/s depending on the device it's being used in. I use it in my Nikon DSLR and it seems to get about 70MB/s write. Be aware of the write-speeds of SD cards, though. The advertised speed is the READ speed, and most cards will have high read speeds. It's the WRITE speeds you should be more concerned about as they are generally lower than the read speeds unless you are buying a real-high-end card.

This was the only card BB had on the shelf. I was concerned that it was a plus card not extreme since write speeds in plus are slower than the advertised read speeds. But, it works for simply recording 4K video.i haven't used it w challenging situations so can't speak to that. The card says 90mb/s ... But that's only read speed. A little deceptively, nowhere on the package does it tell you it reads 60mb/s max... But, that's the difference btwn extreme and plus. Extreme is 95mb/s read and write. But of course, you knew those numbers are max speed and you card rarely reaches the max except during challenging uses, right.

Defective Batch: Does NOT work with Sony a9

Bought 4 during black friday sale. Opened one and my Sony a9 could not read the card. I took it in to the store and the camera specialist opened another to test. Worked in the Sony a7ii BUT it DID NOT work in the Sony a7iii or the Sony a9. Got a refund, and waiting to get my Best Buy Rewards points refunded as well. I have the 128GB Card that works fine. I did a quick Google search and I saw a few photographer sites discussing the same issues that there was a defective batch with the SanDisk.

I bought this card for my wife's Sony RX100 V to use as the main storage for pictures and video generated by the camera. After 2 weeks of heavy use, the camera grabbed all the images without fail and stored all the video that was shot without slowing the camera down, or interfering with it's operation. Colors on the images were vibrant, and the images were sharp. The video was nice and smooth, even at 4K resolution. I will be getting another card or two to go with her camera, most likely the 128GB version, as 64GB can be somewhat tight on video space when shooting 4KB res.

I bought this for use with my DSLRs. Works great. It's read speeds are fast. The actual plastic is kind of fragile near where the electronic contacts are. Mine is already cracked and splits slightly at the seam around the memory card. I don't rough house inserting the card into my dslr or card reader, so it surprised me when the plastic body of the card started to crack. I have a lot of memory cards from different brands and this is the first time that this has happened to me.

I normally go with scan disk for all my photo needs and haven't had a problem. This time time I had a very bad experience. The card failed in my DSLR camera "NAND CHIP FAILURE". When I attempted to recover the data i was unsuccessful. I took the card to a data recovery specialist and was quoted $900.00 for the recovery. I'm sorry but this was a horrible card. Only had it for a few months before it crapped out. It had no physical damage to the card what so ever. Photos are priceless and can't be replaced so a replacement would mean nothing. I gave the product two stars because I haven't had issues with their other cards in the past. Hope this helps.

I bought the card at the same time as a Sony a6000 camera for my daughter. Faster cards mean less time between shots. The sale price made the step up to this card a no-brainer. Faster speed, twice the memory, $10 cheaper than the regular speed card from the same brand? You'd have to be an idiot to not step up, and I was mildly shocked that the sales associate said he'd had customers rudely refuse when he tried to point out the better deal to save them money. While I've dealt with incompetent salespeople previously, sometimes they genuinely are trying to help the customer and save them money and give hem a better product for less.

I love SanDisk products! I have tried various other brands and while they all work to a certain degree, you can never really tell until after the fact if in fact they are as fast and reliable as they say that they are. The SanDisk Extreme products all seem to live up to their name. I use this in a fast DSL camera for video and it works perfectly. I can not be more pleased. Many other brands say that they have the same speed capacity but as soon as you try to use them, the camera will stop recording because the other cards are just not fast enough but SanDisk has always worked for me in all of todays products that can use SDXC cards.

So I just purchased my 2nd 64GB SD card. I picked up the first one last year when I bought my camera, and it's a great card! Super fast! I've had it about a year and half and have had zero issues from it. Price dropped to $25 so I couldn't pass getting a 2nd one. It transfers from the card to my laptop super fast. Very reliable. Not much more to say. As for camera function, it easily keeps up with my camera. I'm hopeful when I update my camera soon to a Canon 6D that it will be able to keep up with the speed of a new camera. If it doesn't, I'll let you know! Highly recommend! Pick one up!

I've trusted SanDisk mostly, even after trying other cards. SanDisk is consistent! This time around I needed a large card because of a last minute wedding photo gig (yes, I don't use full-frame/CF cards). It helped me capture photos without having to switch out or trying to keep track of which card is in which order and which have to be cleared out onto a laptop/drive on-site. Sure, it's probably a bit safer to switch between smaller 16/32 GB cards in intervals, but I just had no time for that! And, with the new cover, it's so much easier to spot amidst my other Extreme and Extreme Pro cards.

First and foremost I would like to state that the product was on sale and when I checked online to see if I could find cheaper to others Best Buy had the absolute best price out there. I needed the extra gigs with great processing time as I do photography as a hobby this card has turned into my main one. When shooting in RAW format files are usually larger so with this SD card I have no problem shooting a few days in a row and still have space left over. So if you're getting a new SD card or looking for another this one is the way to go unless you're getting a Larger one.

I got this on a good deal or I probably would of stuck with something basic. I bought it for my canon camera. The amount of memory for photo storage is somewhere around 7k. I haven't checked movies yet. If you're someone who likes to take/store a lot of things. It's definitely a good place to start. My only downfall is obviously having to scroll through a ridiculous amount of things whenever I want something specific. If you don't mind doing that you'll be find. However if that could lead to issues maybe look into getting multiple smaller ones or transfer as you go.

The newest DSLR cameras (such as the Nikon D3300) require very fast SD cards for adequate performance, particularly when making videos or taking repetitive shots. I've tested this SD card in three such cameras and it performs adequately. I have not used it long enough to speak to its longevity or ruggedness, but everybody should be aware that an SD card [and all flash memory technology] does degrade over time and more so with extended use. Having used SD cards of this brand before (albeit different models), I don't expect this model to be any different (or any less reliable).
