Decent speed but not upto the mark as mentioned on product.

Trouble using: so far not recognized by either 2012 or 2019 Macbook Pro laptops. Bought 10/2022. Very disappointed with Best Buy Customer Service- wasted 1+1/2 hrs trying to obtain answer to simple question as to what was minimum Mac operating system this would work with (after I could not find on operating system- was transferred from Tech Support, Sales help, to Geek Squad- basically every department either transferred me back to one of the others, and I was repeatedly told/encouraged to go to a Best Buy store in person + w/end result of purchasing Geek Squad Services to use their special programs to accomplish my end reason for backing up my 2012 laptop... but I still needed to backup the computer contents beforehand on an External Drive that would be w/my older Mac + Operating system. They wouldno/or could not look up the answer to my basic question as to the minimal operating system (or, whether this Sandisk External Drive was compatible with my laptop w/a 10.14 operating system. I felt most answers were aimed at my purchasing services in-store. Then I called Sandisk (division of WD) + have been holding over 2 hrs!! While waiting I have continued to research an answer on the internet & have found that some users of these Sandisk External drives (especially the 4 TB capacity)- had a disturbing problem of malfunction w/Data Loss, + some problems if use attempted w/Monterey (the manufacturer had promised updates/a solution that has not been forthcoming (I also see that I paid double the current price)... I am very disappointed that Best buy workers would not/could not answer my simple question so I know whether to order other External Drives for my 2012 if this one is not compatible (I need more than one type of backup + want more than one device). After the lack of support- I do not recommend the product; or buying from Best Buy unless one is very computer saavy & will not need tech help. I find it unbelievable that I could not obtain a simple answer from any of the several individuals in multiple departments at Best Buy as to the compatible operating systems for a product they sell.

There is a reason these are on sale a lot right now. Mine seemed to work fine. Then I read tons of reviews online about these unmounting and losing data on Windows and Macs. Seems any made after nov 2022 have been going bad. Sandisk says there is a firmware patch to fix it. But will only work for 4tb versions. Even know 2tb versions also die. Their idea is to just back up anything I ever put on this thing in case it dies. Well I bought this for backup, not to get another back up for this one. Its sitting in my drawer empty and unused.

Spec wise seemed like the best bang for the buck at the time it was on sale... Still super expensive tho

Seems complicated to use. I have watched YouTube and had to ask my son to help.

As a content creator, this thing is perfect. Transfers from my ps5 to my computer is insanely fast.

Just like my Samsung SSD, i love this drive. A must have if you are editing 4-8k files.
