Speedy and has lots of storage. But quality in question. My first one died and Sandisk replaced it under warranty. So back up your files!

I got this to replace a very old external hard drive. Geek Squad transferred the old content but it could not be access by my newer laptop. I have an appointment today at the store and will be bringing 2 bags of equipment. One bag of equipment shown below. I think this little external 2T drive is probably good but can't tell yet.

I had to backup my internal hard drive twice since the first time the SanDisk thought it was full. When I called SanDisk, they said there must have been some corruption so I had to reformat and redo the backup. Never had that experience with other external drives.

Very slow while copying photos to the USB from the PCs

So far this SSD has been OK at best. It’s great that it’s a sleek and small with a decent amount of storage, but I keep having issues with it showing up on my Mac. I plug the SSD into my PC and the drive is recognized just fine, but plugged into my Mac, can’t be recognized. I have to then plug it into my pc and run a diagnostic on it to fix it and then it works on my Mac. A bit annoying, but that’s my only issue with it. That inconvenience is what drove me to mark this as 3 stars. Otherwise the drive works well and is useful in the exact way I need it, to provide extra storage to my 500gb Mac and be lightweight, sleek, and easily stored into my travel gear.

Using this for storing my lightroom catalogs and raw files while in the field. It is plenty fast to work directly off the drive when connected to my laptop. This week I keep getting the disconnect/reconnect chime on my laptop constantly and a pop up notification that the drive may have errors. I freaked out and hooked it up to my desktop using a different cable and backed up the 1tb of data written to the drive already while updating everything I could and restarting my laptop trying to rule out if the drive, cable, or laptop was the issue. My desktop performed an error check and found zero issues. I worry now about the longevity of this drive.

Works as intended , wasn’t plug and play had to unlock it and it doesn’t save had to keep unlocking every use , very annoying !!!

While this SanDisk portable SSD isn't all that fast compared to current generation SSD, it's meeting my present needs. A 2TB portable drive in the $100 range is plenty to archive downloads and documents that were filling up my laptop internal storage. It was easy to encrypt the data in case of loss. If you need more speed, a much faster version is available at a premium price.

At first I was very disappinted with this ssd, the speeds were nothing like promised on the packaging. I was going to return it until i swapped our the included cable with a faster one and then saw the transfer speeds that were promised. Kind of riduculous that you need a different cable when paying top dollar for this ssd…

Small, compact and rugged. The read/write speeds are pretty good.

No doubt a mighty little unit and I’m sure we will be satisfied once we figure it out. But there were no instructions at all on how to use it, and even their website has nothing. I want to use it as a total system backup for a windows laptop, and I’m still not sure how to do that. I’m not a techie, so it’s pretty frustrating.

I love the concept but when saving a file to this drive, it takes forever. I click "save" and the program doesn't respond for up to 30 seconds. Great portability and it takes up little space, but I wouldn't buy again. Note: I did reformat to NTFS and it helped *a little*.

This is my second purchase in a year of this device for Windows 10 machines. It works well, but with some caveats: (1) It falls asleep after about 15 seconds if not being actively used; when accessed after falling asleep, it takes 10-15 seconds to wake up, (2) Because of the preceding point, it's not a good device to leave connected to the computer continuously, (3) I have NEVER gotten even close to the transfer speeds mentioned, even on high-end late-model USB 3.x Windows machines, and (4) The device stalled randomly on my Windows 10 machines until I turned off indexing on it and instructed the Recycle Bin to delete files from this device immediately upon deletion (instead of allowing deleted files to accumulate in an on-device Recycle Bin).

Its fast. My only problem is that i have to connect it to my computer a few times before it actually connects

Advertised as up to 1050mbps. On usb C nor 3.2 can i get over 450. I mean, thats plenty, but not advertised. Theres also the threat of failure, as Sandisk has responded to yet offered no fix or refund. Potential for all 2tb of your data to disappear overnight. No refund, no firmware fix, nothing yet. Potential risk, but this isnt a backup drive, everything i keep on it is replaceable or backed up separately.

Im a dj and producer and have always used these to run traktor for djing and logic for producing and i used to be able to run everything smoothly but recently problems have happened where traktor will lag and skip in LIVE SITUATIONS and logic wont be able to play an entire project through without starting from the beginning because of the hard drive not keeping up.
