Does what it's advertised to (small easy setup reliable name. Havent experienced what negative reviews have. I followed brief instructions. Mainly, eject via Windows before pulling usb plug. No external likes being jerked round, in my exerience.

I want to love these drives. They're fast, tiny, silent, and the price is right. But after my first couple months with two of these 4TB's, I would never buy a Sandisk again. I bought them specifically as shuttle drives for video shoots, and have also used them as edit drives with Premiere Pro. Maybe the third time I transferred with them, I had a strange experience where one of them simply unmounted from my laptop (14" MacBook M1 Pro). Didn't think much of it, chalked it up as maybe I jiggled a cable or something. A few weeks later, I came back from lunch and my Premiere project had crashed. Again, didn't think much of it, happens all the time. This week however, the real nightmare happened. Premiere crashed right in the middle of some very time consuming work, and the drive suddenly lost write access. I had to cycle it a few times for it to even come back online. Now having done and excessive amount of research, I see the rumblings on Reddit and elsewhere that these issues are not at all uncommon with these drives, and there's even a lawsuit about people losing their data. There's no way I would trust it with even low priority material after a failure like mine, and to see it so widespread is incredibly disheartening. For context, I'm a full time film editor and do small video projects in my spare time. I immediately formatted both these drives in APFS for working on my Macs, and only ever used the included cables. There is no reason why they should be failing this soon aside from a defect. Now of course I'm passed the return period for Best Buy, so it'll be a good test of the supposed 5 year warranty to see what happens next. I've since moved my project to a Samsung T7 and have had no issues the last few days. Can't give that one a glowing review just yet since it's early days, but it's definitely just as fast and portable, and runs noticeably cooler. Steer clear of these Sandisks and look at other brands.

Very fast and is wonderful external hard drive for photo editing

The 2 TB Sandisk SSD's are solid and long lasting. This is the third 4TB Sandisk SSD I have purchased. After only two weeks of use it started disconnecting from the computer while in use. This has become more frequent until now I no longer trust it. I have replaced it with one made by Samsung. The 2nd one has also started dropping off. Yikes!

This product is perfect for carrying around on trips! It is very compact and speedy when transferring files. I use this for large video and audio files for work everyday. It is especially helpful on work trips.

Only 4 stars because there is a faster model. I use these to deliver footage files to customers as a back up after I complete a project.. Small, fast, clients love the cool factor: 4 TB on the size of a couple-three rye crisps!

This is by far the best one I have used to date. The sppeds are amazing. I load my game library up, and then I play all my games like they are loaded onto an internal ssd.

This was by far the best large purchase i have made this year. This download and transfer speeds where exactly what i was looking for. Overall fantastic product!

This has been a great solution for backing up my photos. Data transfer speeds are very fast, and it worked right away with my MacBook Air with no setup required.

Easy to use, which was important as I’m not a tech person. Price was comparable to others and had much better ratings.

This is great value, speeds at 1050 , there is a faster version but it has a higher price. Having one of these is great for those on the Go, to have more info for your laptop.

This is my 4th drive like this. I love them and use them for so many things (excellent long term storage).
