The supplied cable is just a tad over 6 inches which I feel is too short, would have suited me better if it were at least 12 inches.

After using for the first time, it just got very hot during writing and reading data. It will probably break sooner if the heat is too much from using. Not recommend to buy.

This was perfect for my needs. I tested the write speed and it was over 4X as fast as my 2 TB external SanDisk drive.

Unfortunately, the pre-loaded security software insisted that I create a username and password before I could access the main drive. I tried 3 - yes, 3 times to reformat the drive. Every time I reconnected the drive, it was magically back, insisting I install it before I could use the drive. This was supposed to be a photo archive for an elderly lady, and I knew that if I couldn't use it without using the security software, neither could she. The other brand I replaced it with is working perfectly.
