Make sure your pc accommodates the USB C. Putting this in usb 3.0 will only go for up to 5Gbps (which is about 500Mbps) but its real world transfer speed in MB is actually 100-140 MBps. On this SSD, i was getting about 200-240Mbps. Great transfer of large files if youre moving data to another drive. But day to day saving files.. a thumb drive will do.

Fast and rugged drive!

Awesome fast portable SSD

It came with a short (less than a foot) usb-c cable with a usb-a adapter to place on one the ends for legacy devices. For WRITING speeds. All data coming from my onboard ssd (surface pro) to these devices. Sandisk usb 2.0 flash drive: ~8mb/s Sandisk usb 3.0 flash drive: ~17mb/s WD usb 2.0 hard drive : ~27mb/s WD usb 3.0 hard drive: ~80mb/s Sandisk usb 3.0 ssd: ~290mb/s This makes transferring large files a breeze.

You can’t beat this for a backup plan. Sure there’s the cloud, but this is one you can put your hands on, take with you or keep filed in a drawer. It lets you rest easy that should anything happen, your’re covered! Truly easy to use. Just plug in and click. No decisions or partitions to worry about. If you plan to use on Mac and pc, you may have to format, but for use on one or the other, no problem.
