This device is amazing. For the capacity of the storage, the build quality, and the user friendly interface; couple this with the low price of this unit, and you have the perfect device for your portable storage needs, without breaking the bank.

I bought this to back up photos from my camera that I shot in RAW. Large files . Transfers very quickly, in seconds. Can revisit the extreme to transfer to further editing.. I like the loop on the disk to secure to photo gear.

I have used this for over a month, it is very fast, has cable with USB C and an adapter for USB 3, and I have had no problems. works on my computers, tablet and phone with no problems. If they had the larger one in the sore I would have purchased it.

Fast & easy to use USB 3.1 Type A & C drive. 350+MB per sec USB 3.0 & 500MB per second on USB C. I have purchase 250GB, 500GB & 1TB sizes. Really see the speed with an SSD drive on computer when transferring files.

This thing is pretty fast at 500gb/s. Excellent for the price but faster options out there. I opened this puppy up and noticed an M.2. You can buy an nvme and a enclosure for it with speeds up to 3.4gb/s but for a higher price.

Old backup hard drive was failing so got this portable SSD in case any MacBook data is lost. Its small size makes it easy to store and to carry around. It also comes with a usb-c to usb-a adapter which was also very useful!

Not really much to say. I like the form factor and size. Nothing super modern iSomething looking for a change. Best part is that I plug it in and it works. Used one on a Windows machine. Got one more and used with with a Mac, also no issues.

Bought this to back up photos and documents from an old laptop. Thought since it connects through usb c that I'd try to connect it to my galaxy note 9, and it did! So I was able to back up my phone too. And it's super fast!

I use this when I edit photos and video it’s is incredible fast. Transferred a 40GB file with nothing but RAW images and it was able to transfer over from my 2017 MacBook Pro to this SSD in 4 minutes. Compared to my HDD it took 18min

I'm using this for my Time Machine backups on my Macbook Pro. It was recognized immediately, I formated it and set it up with Time Machine. I was using an older Seagate portable HD, I expected it to be faster, but dang, it's very fast.

The first thing I noticed when I took the SanDisk Extreme 500GB USB drive out of the box was its compact size. The pictures on the Best Buy website don't have any other objects for reference, and I was pleasantly surprised at how small this device is. The description says it fits neatly into a laptop or camera bag but this fits easily into a pocket. It's roughly the width and length of a credit card or luggage tag, and around a half inch thick. It's also very, very fast. I plugged it into the USB-C port on my computer with the included cable (there's also a USB-A adapter in the box if your computer doesn't have USB-C), and was able to get read and write speeds consistently over 400 MB per second. Not quite as high as the theoretical maximum for this drive, but that could be because my computer isn't the fastest in the world. It's also rugged. The drive has an IP55 rating. That means it's got protection against dust and water. Not rated against immersion in water, but it should be safe against moderate sprays from any direction. It has a solid feel with a rubberized "bumper" around the edge, and since it's SSD, there are no moving parts. Finally, the drive is portable, with no external power source required. Unlike a thumb drive, however, you do need to use a USB cable like the one included in the box. If there was one thing I wish this drive had was some way to stow the cable into or against the housing of the drive so I don't have to go looking for it in the bottom of my bag. Overall, a great product. I'm glad to have it and would gladly recommend it to others. Please note -- I did receive this item free in exchange for a fair/honest review as part of the Best Buy Tech Insider Network. Everything written above is my honest opinion of the product.

This portable SSD has the feature of being water and dust resistant for just a few bucks more than the Samsung portable SSD, it can be use to install games from steam because works like an internal ssd (with usb 3.0).

Wow! I am impressed! I was torn between this SSD & the Samsung T5, I am very pleased with my decision. Transferring huge files is a breeze and I can finally edit 4K footage with no lag! I highly recommend this drive.

It is smaller and much lighter than a deck of cards and simple to use. It is a USB-C to USB-C connection with an adapter that will allow connection to a conventional USB-A connection.
