Both the cardboard and the plastic were caved in. To so roughly bash the items makes me feel they will not last as long as they should with decent handling. I would never buy an item from the store that was in that condition. Yes, I would recommend the product but never, never to be sent.

It is important to know that there have been problems with these devices that do not have the latest firmware. There is a place at Western Digital's website that can be checked to see if what you have needs an update. Mine was up to date already.
