You need to download software for it from your computer, but no where does it tell you to do so. I read about it on line. Cool concept, but needs improvement.

A friend recommend me this item. I plug in and was able to watch movies, back up photos/contacts and do not have to worry about not enough storage on the ipad.

The ScanDisk iXpand provides excellent off-line storage for large numbers of photos etc from your iPhone. Does require the installation of an app on the iPhone to use it.

easy to use. I especially like the dual connections (USB and Lightning), for my MAC book and my apple phone. lots of storage space.

Whatever Apple has done to lock down their Lightning connector must have been a huge headache for SanDisk. There's an awful lot of machinery for essentially what is an iPhone to thumb drive converter. It works fine, but the 32GB limit is odd, as is the floppy semi-folding Lightning connector. Still, only game in town, for the moment.

I was thrilled when I found that SanDisk had a USB that could connect to my i-phone and i-pad. While iTunes is great for music it is not the easiest way to transfer files on/of of the phone or pad. This USB offers an option which makes the transfer of data easier. "Way to go SanDisk"

Works great. The reason for not giving it 5 stars is because I would rather the Lightning connection to my IPad be located on the end rather than on top via a flexible and a little awkward connector.

I wouldn't recommend this device. I bought it to transfer from IOS device to IOS (iPad to iPad). It does transfer from USB to IOS okay, but when you want to download something from IOS, it makes you do a "synch". Synching is not the purpose for this in my case. Also, the software that comes with this is not very user friendly. Definitely not impressed and may not keep it.

This is very easy to use. Needed more storage for my apple products, this provide exactly what I needed

Of course it seems simple, my children say it is, but how does one get the info off the phone and onto the drive? Specifically, music and photos?

I needed a thumb drive storage for documents to use with my I-pad mini for business presentations when I could not connect to the cloud. I was looking at a low cost Android tablet with USB and the Best Buy salesman said I could just use the San Disk device. Even though it was pricey I decided to give it a tech try effort to see if it worked. It didn't at first, until I downloaded a firmware update to use with IOS applications.

This works ok for what it is supposed to do, but the flimsy end that goes into an iPad does not lay flat. It is very awkward. I returned it.

Bought this item for my iphone 5, ipad retina, and Mac book. Tried the interfacing between devices and it works well. The impressive thing is the speed in which it transfers data.

Finally an easy way to expand memory storage and move pictures and files from Apple devices. Apple seems to enjoy making life difficult unless they rule it. This device helps to put an end to that.

I was looking for something to back up my ipad and iphone. That could easily port to my PC. This device meets that need. However I find that the lightning plug is hard to use.

We still wanted to store our info, especially pictures, on something outside the iPad and/or cloud. This takes care of that need.

It's a pretty good storage device for your iPhone. Fast transfer of pics and videos. Very handy. A little odd on the placement of lightning connector. Overall very good.

This did transfer some of my photos but wasn't able to find all my pictures and transfer them off my iPhone, not sure why

It works quickly and efficiently I gave 4 stars only because I didn't like having to download an app to save everything but other then that it's worth the price

I upgraded to a Macbook Pro. It is so easy to transfer photos and files from my old laptop to my new one. Also, I could use this device on my iPhone. I really didn't want to transfer my whole computer and this was perfect and super fast.
