Takes forever to transfer photos

This product works well, BUT it takes forever to transfer the files, and it drains the battery. I can't really say if it's the drive itself or if it's the fact that it's an old iPhone 5S. All in all, gets the job done, just not as efficiently as one would like it to. Not really the value I expected from the product.
