Nice upgrade from the earlier Sansa Clip

I've owned several Sansa MP3 players including the original Clip. This Clip Plus version brings a nice upgrade to the original in several ways: The addition of the Micro SD slot is great. It allows increased capacity for a very reasonable cost. The actual clip mechanism is a lot sturdier, the old one was prone to breaking. The Folder function is a very welcome upgrade. It allows me to group my songs the way I want them and allows me to find them very quickly. The overall design is also quite simple and very functional. Battery life is also great. Since I have a good collection of MP3s, I have not tried the slot radio which seems to be an inexpensive way of getting more music to listen to. Overall a great little device that I have with me all the time.

My daughter had an mp3 player I never did figure out but this is awesome. Very easy to use and Best Buy has a place to download songs from which was very helpful.

Much better for audiobooks than the Ipod

    Posted .

There are three things that make this mp3 player stand out as a great deal (besides the price). The Sansa allows you to isten to an audio book, then stop and listen to music and then go back to the exact spot you had gotten to in the audio book. The Ipod loses your place when you switch to music. You have to end up fast forwarding to get back to your last spot. The Sansa is expandable by inserting microSD chips. This is a great way to expand or load in prerecorded music. The Sansa can be loaded via Windows explorer. The Ipod requires you to manage your music library through iTunes.

I bought this for my 13 year old son for Christmas and he loves it! He is usually pretty hard on his stuff but this one is holding up very well. It is very easy to use. He has had no problem importing songs.

    Quality going downhill

My wife had the previous version (with round dial)of this for 1.5 years until it mysteriously died. It was good while it lasted. I bought this one a month ago and battery life seem short. My wife bought one of these to replace her old one and died after 5 uses (no response to USB cable either). Unfortunately this is one of the very few devices that works with Rhapsody and is good for exercising. I won a ipod shuffle, which had never ending battery life, but I hate itunes so it had to go.

    Nice Value

This is an excellent product with every "visual" feature needed for an MP3 Player. It's better priced than a shuffle... with more features. Battery life is outstanding, and you can simply drag and drop your mp3 files from your computer directly into the music folder, regardless of where you bought your mp3s. You are not forced into using proprietary software, and use a proprietary music service.

I bought this for my father. He takes 10 mile walks every morning and was in need of an mp3 player. He loves it, it's so easy to use and easy to carry. He clips it on his belt and goes! Great buy.

I bought this as a present for my mom. It was perfect: size, features, CLIP! My mom uses it at work and to exercise and she loves it. The sound is really good and its an awesome first mp3 player if you don't wish to pay for iPod prices...

MP 3 works fine, but FM doesn't

While I use the MP3 player when I travel, I mostly use the FM receiver for day to day use. I had an old Sansa 2 GB model that had very good FM reception. But my dog kicked it into a pond, so I had to replace it. The new 4 GB Sansa model has *terrible* FM reception, so I brought it back and got a HD radio instead. Works much better. So, if you are only interested in MP3 the new Sansa is fine, but the FM part of it is worthless.

I like this mp3 because of the large memory

Hope this one lasts longer than the last which locked up 2 months after the warranty ran out. I like the shuffle setting as I use it when I'm doing my filing and it breaks up music type from one song to another.

This is my second Sansa product. It does exactly what I want - play music without the apps, touch screen, etc. Good entry level MP3 - you won't be disappointed.

It is a very basic Mp3 player. It must be fairly durable though, my 11yr old hasn't broken it yet. It is easy to use and setup. It fit the bill for what I needed.

I really like this MP3 player. The one negative that I have is that the sound is a little muffled through the ear buds. Other than that for a basic MP3 player that lets you listen to music it is great.

Worst MP3 player at any price

My old MP3 player broke after 1.5 years & this look like a good replacement. Downloading is a chore. I use my MP3 player to workout and have not been able to use it. I could only get one tune downloaded after several hours, so I though I would just use the radio to work out. I can;t remember am radios sounding this bad. Lots and lots of static. I had to turn the thing off because it was so annoying. I had my IT son look at it and after several hours he was able to get 50 songs load. I though I was going to be happy. But NOOOO. It played two tunes then stuck on the third and I had to manually move to the next song. It kept doing this. I could not find any settings that controlled this and since it played the first two songs and I had done nothing it should have played my song list. I paid $50 which was more than I paid for my previous MP3 players. The cheaper older MP3 players were only 1gb and 2 gb, but they out performed this train wreck hands down. Worst product I have ever bought. I bought a warranty so I might me able to get something else.

I hardly used it. Just got it out and downloaded some music- it is now black screen, no display, and won't charge. This is the 2nd Sansa I have gotten that died an untimely death (although the first one lasted longer than THIS!) I will spend more and get a unit that will last. SO DISAPPOINTED!

This thing is wonderful. With the clip I can attatch it to my sleeve while I'm working at my computer and go though the songs without any problems. It's easy to use and understand. The radio sounds great. Got different earphones. I love the color selections. I get so tired of black on everything. (Got red one as a gift) Great battery life. And the fact that you can use a sim card to add more music or audiobooks is an added bonus. Great deal for the price. I wouldn't hesitate to get another one if I wear this one out.

    FM Radio is Poor

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I had previously owned the Sansa Clip 4GB for 3 years and it worked great in Boston. After losing it, I purchased the Clip+ and figured it would be of similar quality. Unfortunately this was not the case. The biggest difference was the FM reception. Whereas the Clip functioned perfectly well with great reception in all weather types and different clothing options (ie under a winter coat), the Clip+ is a poor replacement. Standing in one place, reception comes and goes, nearly all the stations that worked well before have static/reception issues and when you start moving, these issues are amplified. The mp3 player aspect works fine so if you want a $50, 4gb mp3 player, that may get FM stations, this is a good choice, but don't count on the FM reception to be clear!
