Good drive if installing a fresh copy of windows

Good drive if using as a data drive or installing a fresh copy of windows. The cloning software doesn't size the windows partitions correctly. You end up with a partition for recovery 40gb bigger than need be and no option to correct it in the software. Other than that I'm happy with it once I reinstalled a fresh copy of windows 10...

I purchased this to put in my grandparents laptop since the current 5400 HDD was so slow. This item was also on sale. Having owned the compatible version from PNY, the read/write speeds are slower than the PNY. It's still better than a typical HDD, but I would not recommend this SSD.

Did not provide the clear speed difference that I expected with a SSD drive versus a spinning drive. Personally I think it means you should pay the extra money for the faster rated ssd drives.

Drive worked for almost 3 whole years. Last week was the day it finally died. Happened slowly with the "Average Response Time" spiking up to 20,000ms before it does anything

Had to return two of them. Unfortunately, I didn't back up. And it wiped out a whole computer after 20 days of working great. They just quit for no reason. I had wiped the old drive thinking that it was clear sailing. No boy! I wish I would have backed up the computer. It had a ton of useful software that I no longer no where the install files are freeware that has disappeared from the web mainly. Oh well

Purchased this ssd to replace a 32gb ssd on a chrome book. With this purchase, you get one use of SanDisk's disk cloning software. Unfortunately, the software did not create a bootable hard drive on the new drive, so I was unable to use the new drive in the chrome book. Even more unfortunate was the fact that SanDisk required me to pay for further use of the software. A quick return took care of all my headaches.

    SanDisk SSD Experience.

This is my first experience purchasing and installing a solid state drive (SSD), and I wanted to go with a reputable company like SanDisk. I had just previously contacted SanDisk regarding a defective memory card and I was treated very well and they quickly sent me a new one at their expense (great customer service). I saw that Best Buy had several SanDisk SSDs' on sale, so I decided to buy one (120 GB) and explore what this technology was all about. First, I made a copy of my original drive using Norton Ghost. I then installed the drive into my computer. It is important to note that these drives come without any type of formatting, so you must pre-format the drive first. I decided that NTFS would be the best formatting for Windows 7, and Ghost finished the cloning without a hitch. As others have stated, the drive worked exceptionally well, cutting the boot time to less than a quarter of what it originally was... One final thought: To get the best use out of these drives, and to extend their lifetimes, you must "tweak" a few Windows settings. Just do a Google search on "Windows SSD drives" to get this information... Finally, the 3 year limited warranty that SanDisk has on these drives made me extremely comfortable purchasing this drive. All-in-all, my purchase was a positive experience. Thanks, Best Buy!!!

Now I know you're going to read some reviews that say "My Windows installation disk, didn't recognize it when it was plugged in!" PLEASE make sure that as soon as you get this (or any brand SSD for that matter) ; make sure to plug it into any working computer before-hand that already has Windows installed, and go into Disk Management and FORMAT the SSD FIRST using NTFS file format. THEN when you plug it in to load the OS it should recognize it, right away! Very fast SSD here with a reliable/trusted brand. I have my OS installed on this SSD in my desktop to improve boot-time and performance, and have my other files that take up more space than 120gb; stored on traditional hard drives (at least until SSD prices are cheap enough to pick up a terabyte for less than $100).
