Much faster boot/load time, and improved overall performance! Purchased this after my WD optical Drive took a dump, and am happy with the purchase!

I do like having an SSD for my main drive. It's quiet, and my operating system is much more responsive than it was with my HDD. The only drawback that i can think of, at this point, is the small volume size, but I'm only using it for the OS and my main program suites, like Adobe CC, keeping my data on a separate HDD with cloud backup (which is also proof against SSD lifespan issues). That, and the fact that I tend to keep fairly lean and clean system (I only keep one or two games installed at a time, for example), means that this serves my purposes admirably.

I have purchased three of these SSDs for aging laptops and desktops, as part of an upgrade to Windows 10. These laptops and desktops were up to six years old, running Windows 7. The SSDs immediately made these laptops run significantly faster than with the replaced mechanical drives, especially for start-up and shut-down. To make the replacement easy, just download Macrium Reflect (free version) and clone the drive. Then, remove the mechanical drive and replace it with the SSD. You will notice a significant difference in speed already! Then, perform the Windows 10 upgrade. You will be shocked at how an older laptop can perform like a new one. There are certainly better SSDs than this one--a bit faster. But as far as bang for the buck, you can't beat the performance upgrade for the price.

Only con if you call it that is the cheap exterior materials of the drive. Not that I really care. I am getting 530+ mbs on a sata3 interface

I purchased two of these drives to serve as cache drives in a home server (specifically Windows Server 2012 R2 tiered storage space) . The price was awesome and I was very happy to see a good MLC flash drive on the shelf at Best Buy. They are not top performers but at this price they are a great value, and any SSDs is a huge improvement over spinning disks.

Speed is great and so far the drive is working as expected. I don't believe I got a good deal price wise for the size of the drive, so be sure to check around before getting an SSD.

When this drive went on sales not too long ago, I decided to get a couple. I replaced some good old fashioned hard-drives with this SSD in three PCs, and one Laptop. While documents and other critical data still goes to a regular hard-drive, I'd recommend putting your operating system on one of these for sure... I have had other SSDs break on me (not SanDisk), but I have yet to break one of these.

Good affordable SSD for the OS Drive

I use these Sandisk 120 GB SSDs for upgrading desktops or dual drive laptops that are only SATA II capable. These SSDs have very good read and good write performance. Naturally not up to the level of the best SSDs but more than adequate for computers that are limited to SATA speeds of 300 MBs/sec. I haven't had any fail yet, so for the price that they can be had for, they are a bargain for loading your OS on or even for use as a fast scratch disk for Graphics programs. Remember if you have multiple drives you can change the location of the user files to another disk and then 120 GB is large enough for even systems that have unusual amounts of software installed. Remember that SSDs need at least 10 percent of free space in order for them to function properly. For those that are considering using these or any SSD in a Raid0 you will get a nice boost in both read especially write performance but boot times will be slower than a single SSD. This behavior has been constant for me in multiple builds and contrary to the faster boot times of platter drives in a Raid0. Any SSD will turn your currently platter Hard Drive equipped computer into a whole new experience. 500 GB SSDs are now very affordably priced so turn your otherwise fine single drive laptop into something that you will love again. The battery will last a whole lot longer also as it uses much less juice than platter drives and run at way lower temperatures.
