Sold state drives really speed up things and my machine is working better than ever with a new solid state unit. Boot time is about less than half what it used to be and programs like Photoshop start up so quickly. If you have a machine with a 5400 rpm drive, you will really notice the difference. Generally speaking you need a newer Mac OS or a Windows 7 or newer to properly utilize this kind of drive.

Needed a drive to replace an annoyingly slow 5400 rpm mechanical drive in an otherwise capable laptop. This drive was on sale at the time and had just enough space to be useful as most of the data generated on that machine will be saved in the cloud. I was very happy with its speed and (so far) reliability. Great value!

Cost $60 for 240GB SSD, really can't get a better price than that. SSD performs very well too, not as fast as a 850 Evo but almost unnoticeable in every day tests.

Cuts boot and shutdown in half! About 20 seconds to boot into Windows & less than 10 seconds to shut down! Works great with Windows and Ubuntu! Highly recommend!
