I should have done this a long time ago.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought one of these to add to my 4-5 year old, Windows 7 home PC with the hopes of speeding it up. I had a Seagate 1TB SATA hard drive with all my OS and stuff on it. It crunched and crunched. I had read a couple of web sites with instructions on migrating or copying my current OS to my new SSD. I did not want to just do a clean install of Windows, I wanted to try and save my current setup. I bought this size because I read the SSD runs really good not being filled totally up with stuff. I backed up my data, moved all my extra data from my personal folders to the backup drive. I opted to use free software from Easeus. I had used their personal "todo" backup software before and their free partition master software before. The basic versions are totally free for home use. I found one really good article on Lifehacker.com about the very thing I wanted to do, written by Whitson Gordon. for migrating to a SSD without resinstalling windows. Easeus also has articles written for doing it all for free with their software. My only mistake was not selecting my new SSD to boot up to in the BIOS after the system partition copy was complete. I actually thought, something must be wrong. After I got my boot drive order correct my system screamed. No more hard drive crunching or waiting for my desktop to appear or wake up after the system was sleeping.

Fast storage!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its hard to beat SSD when it comes to low power consumption and speed. I'm using this on a light weight MITX gaming rig with an I7-4790k. When it comes to playing your favorite games and want minimum load times and better performance this is it. Plus one of the benefits of low power consumption is low heat, nice for smaller cases or cases with poor air flow .

Better than a HDD
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I installed this without ever reading a review since I saw it in the store on sale and I had $15 in rewards certificates burning a hole in my pocket. Not much to say except it is faster than a HDD, which makes loading my games a lot less frustrating. (I must add that my three Samsung Pro and Evo SSDs are much faster, but they cost more.) My main compliant about the SanDisk SSD would be the SanDisk website product registration page, which says my Serial Number is invalid, so I have yet to successfully register the thing. Other than that I am a happy owner.

Way faster then the stock drive in my 4yr old pc
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Putting this drive in brought new life to my old laptop. It's like a new machine. I know there are faster ones but for my old machine it's a new breath of life. Hoping it will last another 2-3yrs with this. Went from a 15 minute boot time to maybe 2-3mins with a new a new build of win 7 and the extra 2gb of memory I added.

Great SSD Drive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This SSD sped up my older laptop. Be careful to make sure your laptop is designed to use an SSD to it's fullest potential. If not then the drive will not be faster than a traditional hard drive. Although, you will still have a laptop that can be moved around without worrying about crashing a moving parts hard drive..

Fast SSD
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Installed this unit in a desktop computer that had a smaller SSD. Price was the factor for purchasing this SSD. Based on the recommendation of a sales associate I went with the SanDisk. I was able to migrate the data from the old SSD to the new using cloning software. SSD appears to be as responsive as older SSD.

Works great very fast
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's very fast on my old dell workstations with Windows 10 and Windows 8.1, this product will make any older system run faster than ever. I liked it so much I ordered 17 more and place to replace all my hard drives in over 200 systems with SSDs now.

Great drive good price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this to replace a bad SATA drive in my sons laptop. After reloading Windows I noticed a significant difference in performance. The laptop boots faster, saves files faster and seems to function much better. The system I used this in is a Core i3 with 4gb ram and I have been pleased with the results.

Fast SSD at a great price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very good choice in terms of value (performance/cost), if you want to easily and cheaply improve the performance of your computer. I got this disk while it was on sale to improve my son's laptop performance. Although his computer is fairly powerful in terms of RAM and CPU the component that was a bottleneck to improve its performance to the next level was the HDD that came with it, So, I decided to get him this SSD. The installation is simple, but for data migration you might need to have the following handy: 1. USB to SATA cable or external HDD enclosure with USB or eSATA connectivity 2. Data transfer software (I used Crucial's data transfer suite that came with another disk I purchased in the past) The whole disk replacement process took approximately 3 hours (OS and software only), because as a rule of thumb I not to store user data in the SSDs to keep them clutter free. My son placed the original HDD inside of a portable HDD enclosure and now he uses it as a thumb drive to keep his files handy. I was lucky I had the software and cables from previous installations, but it would be great if Sandisk provided the cable and software as part of a conversion kit.

Amazing SSD - Revived my Macbook
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I installed this SSD into my 2012 Macbook Pro that I had been holding off installing El Capitan. I was already experiencing boot/shutdown times of over a minute, and putting this drive into the laptop reduced the startup time to less than 30 seconds. I feel like I have a brand new laptop, this is amazing!

Great Buy!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've always used Samsung when it came to SSD. But when the price on this bad boy dropped and I needed more space for Steam, I thought, why not? After all, I've been using SanDisk SD cards since 128MB was top of the line. It works great, super fast, and at the time of my purchase was the best buy for the money.

A wonderful drive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this because it was on sale and had good reviews. Needless to say I was thoroughly impressed with it's value and performance. Have had zero issues so far, boots fast every time, and is 100x better than the old standard drive i was using until it failed me after 5 years of rough use.

Nice Upgrade
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this SSD on sale and upgraded a Core 2 Duo Sony Vaio. Cloned the hard drive and replaced it with this SSD. Absolutely no issues and working great. Doubled the capacity of an older but solid notebook. Even though the interface is SATA speed increase very evident. Great buy and upgrade!

Good SSD for the price, great for normal usage.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While they do make more performant SSDs, this one is just fine for normal usage. (Surfing/coding/gaming) The higher end ones are more aimed at server use where you have a large number of users accessing the machine a one time. For a single user, this is more than adequate and will shockingly improve your performance and boot time compared to a normal mechanical hard drive!

Solid State Drives are the best bang for your buck
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The upgrade of replacing a spinning drive with a solid state drive is definitely a mega performance enhancer. This process is easy with many third party tools to clone your existing drive on to the new solid state drive, even if it's a smaller capacity. The gain in speed is monumental!

Good Value. Good Product So Far.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Built my first PC and decided to go with an SSD for the boot/OS drive. This was adequate size, on sale and in stock at my local BB Store. So far so good. Easy to install in the drive carriage and boots with no problems.

Fast solid state drive, great price for the size
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i returned a 120 gb drive and got this puppy to speed up an Intel I5 based system that was struggling with a physical drive. I opted for the larger size to accommodate 2 OS's, MS W7 and Ubuntu. The computer now flies! Makes no sound and battery last a tad longer.

Excellent upgrade for a 6 year old Toshiba laptop!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. All I can say is wow! I knew an SSD would improve the performance of my 6 year old laptop, but I didn't expect it to be as good as it is. I installed this SSD and added one more gig of RAM to make it 4GB of RAM. It was an easy remove and replace procedure. I then proceeded with a fresh install of Windows 7 Home and then immediately upgraded to the free Windows 10 Home. 2 years ago I had re-installed Windows 7 on an upgraded WD Blue HD but did not see any significant performance gain other than a slight bump I got from a fresh OS install. I did not use any imaging or cloning software when installing this new SSD. I now use the old HD as an external backup drive. Highly recommended to breathe new life into aging equipment or just to speed up your system. I am in the process of building a new desktop and will now use an SSD for the boot drive based on my pleasant experience with this SanDisk SSD.
