Bought for a PS3 replacement
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have not benchmarked this. But for a PS3 replacement. Works awesome. Gt5 loads in seconds. Install times dramatically reduced. I'm mainly a PC gamer nowadays. I needed a new hard drive for my PS3. This did the trick. Read speeds are around 350mb per second. So if your looking to upgrade on your PC this will help your times. My review is if you need to upgrade a PS3. Works like a charm.

Works fine
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought 3 days ago. Have probably average computer knowledge. 1. Installed the Sandisk ssd 2.5" in my mid tower computer 3.5" hd enclosure using an expansion kit that came with another product. Had I not had the kit I would not have hesitated in simply chocking up and/or taping the SanDisk SSD in the HD bay. 2. Hooked up an available power cable from the power supply and an (also left over) sata III cable between the MB and the ssd and rebooted. 3. Since no cloning software came with the SanDisk I downloaded a free Macrium Reflect program recommended here and there online to Win 10 on my old HD. That HD at 500 GB was bigger than the 250 GB Sandisk, but I did know the total space used by partitions containing Win10, NTFS, linux mint, and linux swap was only about 110 GB. 4. I thus opened Macrium and checked off on cloning all 4 partitions and hoped for the best. Somehow Macrium figured out a plan and resized the partitions placed on the SSD with room to grow. I'm guessing several other cloning programs you find online will work as well. 5. I rebooted, entered the BIOS and found again how to select boot order and chose cdrom followed by the now recognized sandisk SSD. 6. I removed the old HD. 7. I rebooted and was surprised the whole deal worked. This included the option to boot into Win10 or Linux Mint. The increase in boot speed is remarkable. Other speeds appear to be faster as well. After much research I had already found my MB could be overclocked and did overclock the CPU from 3.2 to 3.7 with very acceptable increases in temperature. Increased speed was noticeable, but, while nice, does not match the improved performance the SSD provides. Based on this experience I highly recommend using an SSD as your primary bootable drive. This SanDisk, at a very reasonable price, seems to work extremely well. If you do get one, remember you will need a sataIII mb to sata drive power cable.

Fast!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ive installed 2 of these now for friends and there were no surprises. Both are going good after a few months now and are much faster than stock HDDs. Once you go SSD you never go back, it is the best <$100 investment you can make to a computer.

Great product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Installed it on a Friday night as the boot drive on my MSI GT70 along with all my games and existing 1tb hdd as the main storage drive, spent the next couple of hours backing up my game files and moving everything over, by Saturday morning I was back in business and it's so much faster I don't know why I waited so long to do this. If you still have a hdd this is overall one of the best performance upgrades you can do for your computer. A must have for any gamer imo

Good SSD for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned many sandisk flash drives over the years, and when the HDD in my pc was going out, I looked into getting a SSD. I found this at a local best buy on sale for $69.00. For what it's worth, it's a good SSD. It is fairly fast, and since I have owned it for almost 3 months now, it is still performing like it did when I first bought it. The tool that comes with it is very nice and straight forward. the SanDisk SSD Dashboard is not confusing at all, it will tell you the life left on your SSD as well as having diagnostic tools built in if you are having problems. The SSD dashboard does not physically come with the SSD, you have to download it from the SanDisk website, but it is not that big of a deal. All in all, I am very pleased with this product and will be looking to get another when the time comes that I need one.

No Compliants
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After moving all my PCs to SSD drives this was the last on to go in. It is much lighter than that others. (important for laptops) Almost seems as if nothing is in the plastic housing. Though for laptop use its power use is 1.5a. My other drives have been 1A and .35A. No noticeable difference in speed among my other SSD drives

Great Drive for the money, made a huge diffirence
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased 6 of these to put it a couple of older laptops that friends/family members had, then I used the other 4 to put in the $300 Dell laptops that I purchased on Black Friday for family members and they were a great addition to the Dell laptops and really made them a fast machine. Write speed is 300mb/s.

Was doubtful but now I'm a believer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this SSD because my preferred brand was sold out. Put it in a PC to replace an older SATA drive and benefits were obvious right away! Super fast and my older pc feels like a new pc again.

Greay Buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Installed it on a Vaio laptop. That PC is only used for basic stuff at home. Stock HDD was gettiing very slow, brought it back to life with this upgrade. With this SDD and a Windows 10 clean install, it feels like a new PC.

Reliable way to make old laptop like new
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have installed 10-20 of these in different locations with different physical environments. I have not had a failure yet. Whether laptops or desktops after quickly cloning the drive with a third party software I quickly fire up the system and they run like a new PC. They also include a dashboard software to monitor firmware and detailed view of the hard drive. It is the cheapest way to make your PC faster and extend its life.

Great buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great price for a hard drive that will increase your laptop boot time. The laptop I put it on went from 1 minute 36 second startup to 8 second start up.

Great Upgrade from a Traditional HDD
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After years of enduring mediocre 7200rpm HDD performance, I grabbed the 240GB version of this drive while it was on sale for $50 off. I installed a fresh copy of Windows and so far performance has been phenomenal compared to the old HDD. Applications open near-instantly and I go from powered off to a usable desktop in seconds. No complaints at all. Highly recommend.
