Overheats and stops

Got this for my wife and when she backed up her Note 9 it got 6.49 GB out of 8.2 GB and stopped saying "no device connected". She said it was very hot. She let it cool and it worked. So far she has not used it to back up such a large amount of data and has not had anymore problems.
