Would think it would ship formated extFAT. Also comes with an encryption software called PrivateAccess that is limited to 128-bit encryption. I formated mine to extFAT, and would recommend using 7-Zip to create an AES-256 encrypted, password protected folder on the drive instead. Other than that, it's a reliable SanDisk product thus far.

Can't be beat. I'm thankful BestBuy offers them. And Kudos to BestBuy for making this online purchase quick, easy, and convenient.

It not only is great, safe storage...but you can hold the slider thingie while inserting into the USB port. I had one that didn’t retract and it got damaged and got pushed in and couldn’t insert it properly into the port!!!

However, due to sizes of movies and other content out there now, you would probably be better getting a terabyte or larger external hard drive if you have a lot of things to store. For smaller storage needs this is perfect.
