Customers frequently mention the Ultra 2TB Internal SSD SATA's excellent performance, ample storage capacity, and competitive price. Many appreciate its ease of installation and the significant speed improvements, particularly faster boot times and quieter operation compared to traditional hard drives. While some users noted slightly elevated temperatures under certain conditions, the overwhelmingly positive feedback highlights the drive's value and effectiveness. The lack of included cloning software was a minor concern for a few customers.

Great SSD - TONS of storage!

Added this to my gaming PC to allow more games. I also have Samsung 850 & 860 EVO 500GB drives, a 960 EVO 250GB drive, and an Inland Premium NVME 500GB drive. You'd think that would be enough space, but nope, games are HUGE! Popped this SSD in, initialized it, blah blah blah, firmware was already up-to-date, and started filling it up. Was able to free up some space on my other drives, download a ton more games, and still have half the drive left over. Ran AS SSD benchmark, and this thing performs every bit as good as my Samsung SATA SSDs - was only about 6% slower overall than my Samsung drives, but costs nearly 40% less than the Samsung 2TB TLC NAND equivalent! Don't know about you, but I'm not paying 40% more for 6% performance, especially when it won't be noticeable when loading games. Has the same 5-year warranty as Samsung, as well, backed by Western Digital, which has always come through when needed.
Do yourself a favor and save the cash, get the SanDisk Ultra SSD over the Samsung EVO (not worth the extra cost) or QVO (slower and less write resistance)!

The speed is as expected, I'm using this with a USB to SATA enclosure and planning to connect to a Raspberry Pi and use it for storage. here is a capture of the speeds.
Note that the USB enclosure is a USB 3.2 (Inateck USB 3.2 Gen 2 Hard Drive Enclosure for 2.5)
and my laptop only has USB 3.1, I'm not expecting the speed to be more than 5gbps
To compare, I have a Samsung EVO 870 1TB and the speed are similar but I see better Random speeds on the Samsung and also a capture of the Samsung speeds. Note that the Samsung SSD is connected directly connected to the SATA port in the laptop.

Sandisk vs Samsung is it worth it?

I have at least half a dozen Samsung SSD's running in Laptops & Desktops at my home office and i wanted to try something with a little more space for about the same price. Granted even when on sale the 2TB Sandisk is a good $60 to $90 more than the equivalent Samsang EVO. The performance is far superior on the EVO drives standing at;
17% overall slower than the Samsung EVO drives, which is in no way saying that the SanDisk drives are slow, they are not.
Check comparisions for yourself at;
https://ssd.userbenchmark.com/Compare/SanDisk-Ultra-3D-2TB-vs-Samsung-860-Evo-2TB/m351750vsm430706
Additionally I have noticed a stubborn controller issue on my older C606 server chips motherboard, for some reason it is having issues communicating properly with the Marvell 88SS1074 controller on the SanDisk drive where as the Samsung MJX controller has been running in that system since last September without issues.
Samsung EVO Controller: Samsung MJX. Memory: Samsung 64 layer TLC V-NAND.
SanDisk Controller: Marvell 88SS1074. Memory: SanDisk 3D TLC.
With this said I am going to try the SanDisk on my new system which is running a Z390 Aurous Master Motherboard with a Intel i9-9900KS CPU, 128GB RAM (4 x32GB 3200 MHz) and a older RX 480 8GB GPU to try and keep things as equal as possible as the C606 system with its 3930k (running at a consistent 4.08 GHz) Hex Core 12 Thread and Quad Channel 64GB of RAM should be somewhat in the same neighborhood as the dual channel 8 Octa Core 16 thread i9 (Base 4.0 GHz).
I just ordered a SanDisk 512 GB SSD of the same model type to see if it is something with this particular drive or if it is indeed a issue with controller compatibility, otherwise I have tested the SanDisk 2TB in a Asus G75 Laptop and it gained noticeable performance over the stock 1TB 7,200 RPM HDD. With that said it is always recommended to do at least some research before jumping on Sales or specials as compatibility may come to cause you more trouble than the price difference in certain situations.
See you next time

Solid SSD, it performs as well as my old Samsung EVO 850 that I replaced. It is a little slower than some of the more expensive drives, but using this as an overflow/data storage drive, the minute speed differences are well worth the lower price. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Horrible failure rate. Stay away from this drive if you value your files, documents, crypto wallets.. etc.
Drive will fail without any warning at all, and be inaccessable in any manner. If I could give 0 stars, I would.
Buyer Beware!

Great SSD. Fast and reliable. This is the 3rd SanDisk SSD I own and all of them have been performed as advertised. For the price, this is one of the best SSDs for your gaming PC. Just realize it's TBW is about 500TB, so it's about half of the leading SSDs, so this is where the price difference gives you. That said, this is perfect for gaming where you're not continuously writing to the drive.

In 2020, I installed this 2TB SSD drive to replace a mechanical 1TB drive in my old 2011 iMac. The iMac now flies. My requirements are mostly word processing, web surfing and Adobe Lightroom with ocassional Photoshop use. Lightroom is substantially faster.
Upgrading to the 2TB SSD has definitely put new life in my old iMac and prolonged its use for a few more years.
One minor caveat, it appears to make the iMac run just a bit hotter because the fan kicks in more often than previously, not a whole lot but enough that I've noticed it.
Highly recommended.

Installed this SSD into my 2012 Apple MacBook Pro 17”.
Fairly easy install on my own. If you’re not patient nor a tiny bit handy with computers have a computer tech do it otherwise it won’t be an issue.
Definitely made a difference in overall performance. I did a lot of research before deciding on SanDisk SSD. Glad I did.

A Turbo Charger for a Five-Year-Old Desktop

When I replace a desktop computer, it is usually because I've gotten tired of its lackluster performance rather than due to equipment failure. My five-year-old computer was starting to feel draggy, but I liked its versatility and form factor. What I needed was a way to soup it up. By replacing the SATA 7200 RPM hard drive with this affordable but capacious solid state unit, I have found the magic elixir. Now the PC boots up at least as fast as my state of the art Smartphone and accomplishes all data transfers at warp speed. This has made a greater difference in performance than any other upgrade I have ever made. I am happy with my PC again! Thank you, SanDisk.

Sandisk Ultra 3D SSD 2Tb:
I purchased this drive as replacement for the original 1Tb mechanical HDD in a seven year old Toshiba S55-A laptop now running Windows 10. The existing drive was cloned using Macrium Reflect software via USB 2.0 and a StarTech USB-IDE-SATA adapter with external power supply. The first attempt to clone failed with a write error at about 15% transferred, however, I believe that was an adapter problem since after disconnecting/reconnecting the several cables and restarting, the clone proceeded successfully. Cloning over USB 2.0 is, however, a very slow process requiring approximately 6-7 hours for 1Tb. A faster approach would have been to buy a disk caddy for the optical drive bay (about $30), however the slower USB transfer did keep the SSD temperature low.
After cloning and swapping drives, The computer booted in seconds rather than minutes and now is a transformed machine, as I had expected. It has even allowed me to install and run Davinci Resolve, a video editing software suite with very demanding hardware requirements, albeit with some limitiations. (the relevant laptop specs are i7 processor; 16GB ram; Intel integrated graphics)
Physically, the Sandisk SSD is very lightweight with an all plastic housing, which proved beneficial when I discovered that one drive mount in the laptop had apparently been broken in original assembly so that the drive was only anchored on one side. With the much lower mass of the Sandisk SSD, I believe that the remaining single mounting rail is adequate.
In other reviews, I've seen comments that the Sandisk drives are not supplied with cloning software, and a cursory look at the Sandisk (WD) site seems to confirm this as only the Sandisk Dashboard software is listed under downloads. The Identical WD Blue SSD, however, does list the WD version of Acronis cloning software as a download and, once you install the Sandisk Dashboard and dig into the menu tree, you'll find "Other Software" which is a link to Acronis, so WD does provide cloning software, although it is not obvious. I prefer Macrium Reflect because it can clone the drive on which it is running, without having to boot to a rescue disc or USB drive, and it is also free.
Only time will tell how the 500TB written that is specified for the SSD will translate to the life of the drive, but I expect that will not be the limiting factor for this laptop.
In all, I am quite satisfied with my purchase and highly recommend the Sandisk SSD.

This SanDisk has been the frosting on my cake. When I first bought my computer it had an 256 NVMe M2 SSD. It was fine, but i ran out of room in less than 2 weeks with it.
Now having a 2TB SSD drive? It is fast, quiet, reliable and just gives me peace of mind.
I know whatever I want to put on my computer, I will have the space to do it, and the resources to pull it up really fast with no problem!!
