They make smaller ones, the size of a thumbnail, but that is too small for me. This one is a bit larger and less streamlined than I like, but still does the trick and is fairly convenient to carry in the zipper pocket of my computer bag.

Doesn't fit in my mac book USB slot while there is another USB connected but that's not a big deal for me. I'm sure other computers are spaced differently between USB ports.
