The USB drive itself was fine but the security software it featured was a problem. The program required an update that didn't work when it tried to update itself. I was able to fix it via a website download but that's really clumsy.

Going to add my positive review to the many others for this device.. have only had it for a day so far but works exactly as advertised (if I don't come back and update this review even years from the time that I post it then assume that it's still working great ! ) ... loving the usb 3.0 transfer speeds, I'd say it's about five times as fast as the old school usb 2.0 flash drives I was using. Having said that , you may find that these perform better when you plug them into the usb 3.0 port on the back of your PC ... which is a general observation that applies to all usb 3.0 devices not just this one in particular.. while it is indeed a pain in the butt to reach all the way back there, I find that plugging it into the front usb 3.0 port is "hit and miss" probably because that means you're dealing with the usb 3.0 cable for your PC case that plugs into your motherboard .... with the back usb 3.0 ports on the other hand (behind the PC) you're plugging the flash drive directly into the usb 3.0 ports hardwired into the motherboard meaning you can bypass any potential poor performance related to your PC case... This isn't to say my flash drive didn't work when plugged into the front of the case, matter of fact it was true "plug and play", Windows 8.1 immediately recognized it and had it up and running very fast ... I'm just saying sometimes it would seem to run slower than it possibly could with the front ports...

This flash drive is a typical flash drive with nothing special. It does not seem faster than my other Usb 3.0 drives. Lexar 3.0 drives seem better constructed and more ergonomic.

Bought 2, by the time I got around to using one it was DOA. Past the BB Return window and not worth the hassle of going the the RA process with SanDisk

So far so good, it only cost me about $6 on sale for the 32gb one and it works great. I can transfer a 1gb file in about a minute as opposed to the 3-5min it would take before on a usb 2.0 stick. I've only had it for about a week so far so I can't say anything about it's durability just yet, which is a known problem with some flash drives. One point of warning though is the connection feels visibly warm after just a few of the larger transfers, much like if you used a 2.0 over a long period of time. I guess the faster data transfer means more heat and electricity passing threw the stick so I would advise long continuous use, if you want that get an external HD. And in case your curious USB 3.0 is backwards compatible with 2.0 ports, it just doesn't gain any extra speed while using them.

Loaded files, but the next time got an error message that it was failing. Wasn’t that expensive, but expected to to last longer.

SanDisk Flash Drives are always a good value. Never a problem and the 3.0 works great to record TV

Typical of SanDisk, a high quality flash drive that works exactly as expected. Not as fast as the SanDisk USB 3 Extreme version, but much faster than any USB 2 ones. My tests with Blackmagic Disk Speed Test running on an iMac with USB 3 ports showed up to about 40 MB/s writes & 60+ MB/s reads. (Remember that to get this kind of speed, you must plug USB 3 drives into USB 3 ports -- otherwise while they will work, you will only get USB 2 speeds.) I bought this one on sale at Best Buy for $20. At that price it is hard to beat!

I bought this in store last week at a great sale price to use with my PS4. The USB stick I had been using was terribly slow when trying to copy pictures/videos from the PS4, even though that USB stick had decent speeds when used with my PC. Now things that were taking upwards of 5 minutes to transfer are done in a matter of seconds. Also works great in the USB 3.0 ports on my PC. This purchase has really helped me enjoy all the screenshots I take on PS4, because it was so slow trying to transfer them to PC before.

I have several of these, and they all came with a hard partition and "extra" software I don't want or need. In the previous versions I was able to reformat the USB drive and delete the partition and the unneeded software. With is new USB 3.0 SanDisk has made the partition impossible for me to delete. I am ailing this back to the store. It is useless to me. All I wanted was an empty flash drive!

I've had a usb flash drive on my keychain for 5yrs+ now. It is only 1 or 2gb and cannot hold a lot, so it was time to upgrade. I got this when it was on sale. My old flash drive cost more than this. It's funny that I was able to get 16 or 32 times the storage at the same price that functions at much faster speeds in such a short time. I bought the black version of this flash drive initially and then also got a red one, as it will stand out better. I am keeping both, however. So far, so good.

Pretty good size and responds very quickly. Use it in my car to play all my music and it works great. Holds a lot of songs. I accidentally left it in my jeans when I put them to wash and dry and was so disappointed. I was so glad when I connected it to my laptop and saw the little light turn on and everything is still there and it is still working great! I am definitely buying another when it becomes the "Deal of the Day" again. Even at $14.99 it's a bargain and great, but I am cheap :)

I downloaded photos from digital camera into the sandisk flashdrive but couldn't open on my laptop.

This held all the information that I needed and it was very easy to use.

I was forced to purchase this because geek squad said I may lose data they cannot guarantee. So I was forced to purchase this to put documents on and no documents were actually lost. This product was purchased for no reason

Best pricing for the amount of Gigabytes of storage it has.

Very lightly used. In fact, primarily used for carrying copies for external printouts. In 5 months, this has stopped working. None of the computers reads or recognizes the device anymore. Disappointing!

I buy all types of storage/memory media whenever I see a steal of a price. There are so many different devices out there worldwide, you'll find that buying different storage and memory will ultimately be needed, even if you don't think so. Alot of times you find that Zap, your storage or memory just fried or lost the ability to store. I had a flash drive from +10 years ago that lost its' ability to store. Like a CD or DVD, it is well known that data can "evaporate" based on shelf life. Having a box of various storage units (and memory), you'll realize what a great idea it was, as soon as you need it later on, when the item is no longer sold. I had this issue with a +15 year Olympus Digital Camera. Nobody sells the extra large size card it takes anymore, and mine failed, but I wasn't worried, I had a backup I bought a few years ago. If it's a good brand and the price can't be beat, buy it, you'll be very happy later on.
