It had to be USB 3.0 and it had to go on my key ring. It meets the first bit of criteria right off the bat. The second bit of criteria is why I gave it four stars instead of 5. Sure it goes on my key ring, but the plug doesn't fly retract and lock while attached to the key ring. It locks in the out position, but floats in and out when it is retracted.

They are always rock solid and I've never had a bad one in 10 years of use. I bought multiples because the price was so low.
