SanDisk has really taken the SSD capacity/price down to a reasonable level where this 512GB drive is a excellent purchase for any PC used. It's not the fastest SSD on the market but compared to a mechanical platter drive this has better performance in all areas except capacity.

The drive works great and as the title states, you need only to format the drive and you are good to go.

This is the boot drive of a refurbished workstation. Pulled the old drive, attached this one, system detected it, installed the OS and started using it. Boot time is far better than before, and I don’t see stalls while the system writes to disk.

I've tried and used a few other sizes and brands, but this SanDisk Ultra 512GB SSD has been the perfect size, performance and price for laptops and desktops. So far I haven't had any problems with any of the Sandisk SSD's I've purchased, either from Best Buy or other retailers.

I purchased this to speed up my PS4 and shorten load times. It did just that. I ended up returning this item because the WD 500GB SSD was cheaper on Amazon and comparing the two both inside my PS4...the WD performed a couple of percentage points faster.

Got this on sale for $60. Turned out my hdd died and used this drive as a replacement. Win 7 has no issues and boots in about 3 to 4 seconds. Much faster than a mechanical hdd. Not as good as samsung evo but close enough. It works for now but we'll see in a couple of years.

I bought this to replace a standard hard drive in an older computer. What a difference this makes. It made the computer work faster than when in was new(6 years ago). You do need software to clone the disk if you are replacing the original hard drive, which is not included with this drive.

Replaced a 512GB hard disk drive in a 4-year old Lenovo E540 with this SanDisk 512GB SSD. Removed the HDD, did a sector by sector copy to the SSD, then installed the SSD in the laptop. Worked flawlessly. Cut boot time from 2+ minutes to ~10 seconds. It's working better than a new laptop.

When it comes to portable storage solutions Sandisk has been a reliable name but the previous Sandisk SSD died for some reason. Hence 4 star rating. Bought same brand again to see if there is an improvement on the Ultra series. Been an year or so and have been performing well. I use this for a secondary laptop which I don't use much. But performance wise, this is really fast and responsive. when you see its on sale you can definitely buy it.

In my opinion, this is the 2nd best alternative to Samsung. You can't go wrong with this item. I build custom computers and this will always be my go-to. I've never had a SanDisk fail on me. ALL SanDisk products are great. From SSD's to USB Flash Drives.

Installed same as hard drive only faster. Has performed without flaw ever since. boot is much faster, especially since I use Linuxfor my OS.I have been wanting a SSD fi=or years, I am glad they reach a price point to complete with Hard drives.

Its a SanDisk, they are knkwn for their reliability. I am happy with how they work and are compatible with everything we have. If you go with the cheaper ones it can be a hit and miss. These SSD are rock solid and you just cant beat the read write speed for the price.

The ScanDisk Ultra is super fast and a great replacement for a older computer. it will increase your speed and your comuter will run great using this ScanDisk Ultra. I would suggest you try one. You wont be disapointed.

I don't give 5 stars for much but this deserves 4.9 if I could. Bought one for my laptop to upgrade it's drive about 4 years ago, still love it. Bought one a year later for my buddy and changed his out, he loves it! Bought this one last year for Christmas for my parents and changed it out for them, they love it! No problems and love the interface Sandisk gives you to check for firmware upgrades and HD health. Will def buy another if I need to for someone else that would like to upgrade their old drives to newer, faster tech.

This is a no-frills SSD drive as there's no bracket or cloning software but on the other hand, it's inexpensive & performs well. As for durability, we'll see .. so far in a few months of use, I have had no issues but I'm told that TLC type flash drives (like this) are not as durable but the better types (SLC or MLC) will cost far more and for your average home use may not be worth it. Regardless of what you go with, it's always good to backup your drives and especially the important files as all SSD drives at some point will fail as well.

Bought this because of it's read/write speed for use with video recorders, and it works flawlessly.

The disk hard drive in my iMac had just died and I needed a replacement to get back up and running. Ran down to BB to find this ssd that just happened to be on sale. All's good, runs my IOS much much faster although the sata2 limits the speed, oh well still a happy camper.

I actually bought this to use as a gaming drive. Fast forward a few months and having not installed I misplaced the tiny box it came in. So a few $$ more and I have the 1TB version of this drive now as my gaming drive. When I find it this drive will make a nice drive in some machine.
