The unit had a good download speed and a security lock out which where important to me. The unit was on sale at my time of purchase which made it the best value available.

I do a lot of transfers of small files (less than 1 MB) and the write speeds are pretty good. The only other drive that I can recommend over this is the SanDisk Extreme series which have the best write speeds that I've seen.
