Excellent price to function value. It is 3.0 so you do have to have a USB port and computer that can use this (most new computers do). Decent speed- not the fastest or slowest. For the price, is a great buy.

I have used Sandisk for a while now and it never disappoints. light, Durable and works great.

I bought this for the Sandisk encryption that was promised, but that software is so buggy that I just formatted the whole disk as a Truecrypt volume. For example, with the SanDisk encryption software, you can't save directories within directories if they have the same name. That is a hard lesson to learn and figure out after a long, failed copy. Any defect in backup software is a risk of data loss. The hardware works fine, and Truecrypt encrypted it fine (Truecrypt is now defunct, Veracrypt is its successor). Not fast enough to, say, run an OS from, but fine for basic backup storage.

As always with Sandisk a great product at a great price.

The flash drive is better for read speeds than write speeds, so just keep that in mind. I've read that the write times are very slow for small files, but I only use the drive occasionally.

I do plan on buying another one day till then I'm making good use for this thumb drive. I was thinking of getting one that is less big and pointy, since eventy i'll be down sizing my laptop to a 13 inch.

Can't comment on this as we bought this as a backup and we haven't needed it yet. In-store customer service person was helpful in identifying this as a good item to buy, especially since it was on sale!!
