My Review of the SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Go 1TB

My Review of the SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Go 1TB USB Type-A/USB Type-C Flash Drive I’ve been using the SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Go 1TB for a while now, and it has been a game-changer for my data transfer needs. The dual connectors (USB Type-A and USB Type-C) make it incredibly easy to move files between my laptop, smartphone, and tablet. The read speeds of up to 400MB/s are impressive, allowing me to transfer large files quickly and efficiently. The 1TB capacity is more than enough for all my photos, videos, and documents, and I love the durable swivel design that protects the connectors when not in use. Plus, the keyring hole is a nice touch, making it super portable. The SanDisk Memory Zone app is also a great addition, helping me back up and manage my files effortlessly. Overall, I’m really happy with this flash drive. It’s reliable, convenient, and perfect for anyone who needs to manage and transfer large amounts of data across multiple devices.

I've used other brands of flash drives, some of which failed. But NONE of the SanDisk drives that I've purchased over the years have ever failed. Good quality for a good price, I'd say.

    Slow piece of garbage.

This drive is labeled as being USB 3.1 gen 1. It advertises maximum read speeds of up to 400MB a second. It doesn't advertise write speeds, but they're supposed to be in the neighborhood of 50MB a second. I tried to write 110 Gigabytes to this drive and it was an exercise in futility. I tried via both the type A and the type C connection on USB 3.2 Gen2 ports and both times it said it would take over a full day to write the files. That is absolutely absurd! I was getting write speeds of about 130 KILOBYTES a second or just over 1/10th of a Megabyte per second. Literally THOUSANDS of times slower than it should be! I know it's not a computer issue because I tried using a MicroSD card with a USB 3.1 adapter and the transfer finished in about 15 minutes. I'm not sure if my drive is defective or if they're all like this, but I'm never buying one of these again. Edit: I ran some speed tests, and the speeds are okay when using large files. But it tanks when transferring a lot of little files like I was. All drives slow down when you do this, but this drive should not have gotten as slow as it did. Like I said, a MicroSD card in an adapter ran circles around this thing,

I had the 128GB version, and it works, albeit a bit on the slow side. I got this, the 1TB version, to move files between my PC, phone and tablet. It starts of very well, showing transfer speeds of 1.2 - 1.4 GB/second, but quickly drops to between 25 - 35 KB/second. 587 hours to finish the transfer, no thank you. I'll be seeing if I can return this in the morning.
