Good performance, questionable durability

I've been able to connect it and transfer files reliably to a Windows PC and Galaxy S9 phone, and while the transfer rate wasn't as fast as advertised on the PC, it's because the PC only has slower, first-generation USB 3.0 ports so I'd expect faster performance on a more modern PC. The entire outer housing of the drive is made of plastic, and while it's flexible rather than brittle, since the USB-A connector is also made of this plastic (the USB-C connector is metal), I've been handling it gently. I would not want to leave this tumbling around loosely in a bag or drawer where something heavier might crush it, and I'm being extra careful when inserting or removing it with USB-A ports. I'd have given this 5 stars if not for the plastic USB-A connector.

Owned for 6 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I initially purchased the SanDisk thumb drive to record HDR videos on my iPhone 16 pro. it worked great initially but over some time the USB-C stick wore out and I didn't even use it for long. I would say I got about 20 uses out of it. the only way I can access my stored files at this point is by using a dongle that allows me to hook up the USB-A side. it's a little bit disappointing because I didn't have it for long and I thought $256 gigs would be all I needed. the product was a little bit sturdier I'd be happy but I can't say I am currently the fact that it doesn't work.
