The Type-A USB makes it compatible with older computers while the Type-C provides very fast connection to current computers. It comes at a very reasonable price for the memory capacity. I use a few of them to back up my files on a regular basis and leave them with friends for safe keeping at their places in case of a catastrophic failure of theft. It takes all the stress away!
