Great on storage and flexibility, burning hot

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.These flash drives are awesome for storage space and flexibility, but they are downright horrible on speed and heat. I bought two of them that were delivered yesterday. I've been using them to image a few computers throughout the day today, and so far after having done 12 of the 24 machines I've needed to image, they've gone from 11MB/s down to 2MB/s as the day progresses. This is using both USB C and USB A interfaces. After imaging each machine they were so hot I could barely touch them to remove them from the machine. I had to use a rag to grab them otherwise I wouldn't have been shocked if I literally got 2nd degree burns. An older USB A/3.1 drive I have has been consistent throughout the day and no scorched fingers... Yes, it was also a Sandisk. I live and die by Sandisk flash drives and external SSDs , but these were the first disappoint experience I've had with their products. Sorry Sandisk, these will be going back to the store.
