I reached out to the company and was given a general answer that did not help. No other support. I asked for help from pole I know but have not found a solution. My Mac knows it is there only when I remove it stating it was removed in error.

The only thing I have had happen, is I carry this on lanyard, and had it fall off once at the hinge point. So just need to keep track of it.

Unfortunately the reliability falls way short. I used it lightly [2-3x per month, household use] for 2.5 yrs. Rarely backing up >1GB in a session. Today I went to back up maybe 5 medium sized directories & got the dreaded error "The disk is write protected". I spent 30min with diskpart fixes, tried both ends of the drive–USB types C & A–and even tried it in a Macbook. [My drive was formatted FAT32.] No joy. Next time I'll try a different brand.

After 2 weeks owning, it’s very flimsy, it doesn’t click in place. I don’t know how long this whole thing is going to last. I place my on a keychain. They should’ve made it one piece instead of spinning.
