The SanDisk 512GB flash drive is a compact dual flash drive. One end is male USB Type-C and the other end is a female USB-A. There is an attached cover that you can flip to one end or the other, which clicks into place. I love the file storage capacity of 512GB (with 460GB usable space) and how compact it is. It has a key-ring hole in the case, but with no cover to protect the open end from dirt and dust, I will probably not use it on my key-ring. Instead, I placed it in a zipper compartment in my wallet. The case is metal, so it gets very warm when in use, but not so hot that it burns and not so hot that you can’t hold your hand against it for a long time. This happens with all of my metal flash drives, but it means that the heat from the drive is being dispersed to the outside which helps to keep the drive’s chip cooler. If you’re using it on a smart phone, this drive plugs into your charging port, so you won’t be able to use that port for charging at the same time. A splitter or wireless charger may be your answer, but my splitter didn’t recognize the flash drive. This should not be an issue unless you are transferring a large number of files at a time. With my first attempt at backing up my entire phone (including the movies on my attached 256GB microSD card) I ran my battery down to 4% before I stopped the transfer. I tested the speed in the following different ways: I tried to transfer all of my phone’s photos and movies, but I stopped the transfer when my phone was about to die. At that point, I had transferred 57.2GB from my phone to the flash drive at 9.3mb/sec. It started out at 35 to 40mb/sec, but eventually slowed down. This is typical with large transfers, so my next tests were to transfer files in smaller batches which will result in much faster write speeds. I transferred a 2.00GB movie from my phone’s microSD card to the flash drive at 19.4mb/sec. (1 minute and 43 seconds.) I transferred 7.23GB from my laptop to the flash drive at 18mb/sec. I transferred the same files (7.23MB) from the flash drive back to my laptop at 97.7mb/sec. I used both the "My Files" app which was already on my phone and the “Memory Zone” app which is supplied on the Flash Drive. The speed wasn’t different by the method, but the “Memory Zone” app seemed easier since I could decide to choose the files by “type” or by “location”. Overall, I liked the drive very much and would recommend it as a fast, compact drive with a large storage capacity.

This is one of my FAVORITE flash drives!! It's absolutely perfect and for me the storage last for months even though I put stuff on it every day!! I love having the dual connectors too because it makes it easier for me!! Plus, it arrived SUPER FAST and didn't cost an outrageous price... Definitely recommend it!!!

This SanDisk Dual Drive Luxe 512GB has both USB Type-C and Type-A, and makes it more useful than flash sticks with just a single interface. It performs as advertised, though runs hot. It delivers read speeds up to 150MB/s, which is good enough for general office and school use. I was able to consistently get over 140MB/s on USB-C. Other drives on the market are faster in case you’re dealing with photo/video or other large files. Once nice touch is the drive snaps firmly in place when you rotate to select USB-C or USB-A.

This is the perfect keychain USB drive; I have a very limited key set that I keep on me. My car key, e-bike battery key, mail key, sim card, multitool, and usb drive. For me this is the perfect keyring usb drive. My old drive was only USB A and I needed to dig in my bag (if I even had my bag on me) for my adapter when I was just trying to transfer a file. The other problem with USB A is that it got bent in my pocket and became unusable eventually. This USB drive protects the USB A side with a firm click, the USB C doesn’t need the same type of protection. This has lived in my pocket for a week with a wreak or two on my one wheel and survived just fine. It isn’t the fastest drive speed out there and I might not choose this drive for constant mass data transfers; but one that is designed to be tiny and fit on a keychain isn’t designed to do that. I am happy with the read and write speeds that I got off it. It’s fast enough to play a video from the USB drive directly which the most I’m looking for out of this. Overall it is an extremely well built small USB that gets the job done that I need done, that being transferring photos or video between my phone and laptop, tablet, projector, or desktop.

This was exactly what I needed. More of the modern laptops I've gotten have included more Type C ports vs Type A ports. They've forced me to dig through my PC Accessories box to find Type A to Type C adapters when using normal flash drives. This SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe solves the problem elegantly with a flip cover design. Flip the cover and it exposes the Type-C connector, flip it again, and it exposes the Type A connector. The cover clicks in place and provides general protection for the opposite connector. The 512 GB of storage is accessible by both connectors. Read speeds are about 150 MB/s and the sequential write speeds are about 50 MB/s. The finish throughout the drive and clip is a very smooth satin finish. It sometimes feels like it can slip through my fingers, but using the hole at the end of the clip, I now have it tethered to a keyring. I hope these come down in price. I can see myself picking up several for my use.

This is a very simple product, but does what it's made to do very well. It feels very well built with nice solid metal. There are both a USB C and a USB A ports on the drive, which makes it very easy to use on all types of computers. There is a handy swiveling key ring type thing that protects the USB port thats not being used, while allowing you to attach to a lanyard or something so you don't lose it. The read/write speeds seem real world very close to advertised, and the device gets warm, but not hot while using. Feels very well built, not flimsy when inserting into a computer.

Love this flash drive! Easy to uses and small enough to keep on your key ring. It does get hot during use. Overall, it is a great purchase.

Bought this for the volume (capacity) and the USB-C - did not read closely, but it also had the USB-A - BONUS!!

It has plenty of storage for everything (depending on the memory size purchased) and feels like a higher quality usb drive. Highly recommend!

Great and a must have device for content creators or anyone in general that wants to save memories.

As an iPad user this ultra dual drive is a winner, I downloaded several movies to watch while on a plane and awesome to not worry on iPad storage. Also very useful to transfer photos from my iPad to computer, fast transfers and also useful for large files to access. Great to be able to go between iOS and windows for many files, photos and even movies and they transfer and work with no issues. Top notch product.

Great storage but took awhile to figure out software.

The flashdrive did exactly what I wanted it for and the delivery was fast and securely packaged.

Good memory for moving files. Strong and fast. I have been using it for months

not as fast or friendly to use as I thought. had problem with not being able to erase it or remove files.
