Does get hot on high-speed writes

I noticed it can get very hot when transferring files to it. During the transfer it will slow down and then cool down, then speed up again (keeps repeating this cycle). I then used an usb extension cord for the remaining writes - I don't know if the heat would damage my computer. During playback it does not get hot, only a little warmer. Since I completed the transfers, I don't expect heat to be an issue. Great price - only $20.

Awesome USB
