This is the newest version, I havent noticed a major increase in speed but these small drives are perfect for storage. Transfer rates are fast at 3.0 or 3.1 USB. The best feature is the built in security which you need password to access and files are decrypted. I can loan a drive to fellow workers to transfer files without worrying they are snooping around in my information.

Great Flash drive for your Car

Since it doesn't stick out much it prevents it from being damaged should you accidentally hit it. Make sure you reformat this to fat32 since it won't read it if you try to play it in car. When you purchase it the format its default is at exfat32

This drive was perfect for fitting in the USB slot of my living room sound system without protruding out far enough to be struck by foot traffic or the vacuum cleaner. I have an identical drive in my car. In both, cases, the drive holds my music.

The storage to price point is unbeatable but the compromise is write speed and a little durability. It always gets very hot when in use and the smooth plastic loop makes it hard to pull out of the port. Lastly write speed is quite slow. it averages around 22 MB/s

Response time is good but not as data speed of 3.1 should support. I had not expected on such a tinny device, but reliability is pretty solid.
