Even on my USB2.0 PC, this drive is about 50% faster on reads, and 4x faster on writes, than a Cruzer Glide. It's about the same as the other Ultra USB 3.0 drives. But on a not-very-fast PC that has USB 3.0, the read speed doubles, and the write speed goes up by about 25%, while the Cruzer stays about the same. The read speeds on the "standard" Ultra drives didn't go up as much, so this one is about 50% faster. I also like the fact that this one has a real dust cap, so it doesn't pick up lint in my pocket. The PNY Turbo drives are slightly faster on reads, and much faster on writes, but I had a bad experience when they slipped me a flaky Kingston drive under their label, so I went back to all Sandisk.

I bought four of them. All performed same and they were two and a half times as slow as the same model of 32 GB. I returned them all.

Beware, it does not work with car stereos. I bought mine for my car because of it's small size and USB 3.0. However, it didn't work. Going through other reviews on amazon, I came to know it is a known issue. Moreever, there is weird design issue with this USB..I had a hard time plugging it in the my laptop's USB slot as well as in my car's USB slot. It is going to cause much more mechanical wears than any other USB.

This is the most asinine thumb drive. I like small drives but this is ridiculous. You will be losing this every 5 minutes guaranteed. It is smaller than the nail on your thumb. It is far too small take my word for it. It is unnecessarily too small.

I bought this item on sale for $8 a few weeks ago. After about 5 uses (i.e. only saving files to the device, and nothing else, like reformatting) it has malfunctioned twice (the last 2 uses out of 5). Error messages on my computer read: error installing the device, and device malfunctioning. My computer wouldn't read the device. This should not have happened, obviously. I'm returning it asap because I don't want an unreliable USB drive. It makes me wonder why such a product would have a high discount in the first place. Did I purchase a faulty product sold at a discount? I think so.
