Cheap plastic

Cheaply made, all thin plastic that bends easily. Be carefull putting it in usb drive. It gets very hot. For $3 more I got another one made that was vetter made and solid, & metal

Very Small, But Lots Of Storage

Otherwise, it would get zero. The body is all plastic. I was skeptical of the plastic when I bought it, and it turns out I was right. Not 18 months later and the body has broken. It wasn't even moved a whole lot...it's been used as my dashcam drive, so it rarely is even touched. Because the 'ducks mouth' is now a loose flap, it doesn't provide support to the opposite side while plugged in, which causes the connections to lose contact. So now it's no longer a tight fit. This, to me, is blatant engineered obsolescence. I will replace with a samsung. Sandisk has gotten its last dollar out of me forever. Fool me once.

They heat up a LOT when in use and their write performance declines rapidly. Trying to write a 21G file from my local SSD to this USB SSD takes over an hour, but if I just transfer the same file from the same local SSD to an SMB (network) share over 802.11ac wireless, it takes about 4 minutes. Other SSD drives connected to this same computer and transferring this same file that I've used, even from SanDisk (e.g. a 128G microSSD attached via a microSSD -> USB converter), worked MUCH faster and reliably for writes. Read performance appears to be decent and does not heat up the drives as much.

I eventually put a piece of bright tape on it to keep from losing site on it on my black desktop.
