They heat up a LOT when in use and their write performance declines rapidly. Trying to write a 21G file from my local SSD to this USB SSD takes over an hour, but if I just transfer the same file from the same local SSD to an SMB (network) share over 802.11ac wireless, it takes about 4 minutes. Other SSD drives connected to this same computer and transferring this same file that I've used, even from SanDisk (e.g. a 128G microSSD attached via a microSSD -> USB converter), worked MUCH faster and reliably for writes. Read performance appears to be decent and does not heat up the drives as much.

Versatile with bot USB-A and C connections

I eventually put a piece of bright tape on it to keep from losing site on it on my black desktop.

It was used occasionally, generally as a backup storage device. Problems after failure includes causing issues with the file explorer and unaccessible through disk management; overheats. Unable to restart the computer while it’s inserted. It’s possible that I got a lemon.

Worked great then broke

However, after a few short months it will no longer register in my car or my computer. Unfortunately this is usually the case with Sandisk flash drives

For now limiting tv apps since unable to delete bloatware and cleaning cache to mitigate. Might be great in other scenarios, just not for me.

A quick google search revealed it's a common thing to occur on some of SanDisk's products and once it occurs there's no way to format or overwrite the corruption. I use this in my tesla because it's sleek form factor fits flush inside the usb port of the center console

My experience with this flash drive is not good, wouldn't recommend anyone buy this cheap flash drive.
