The reads were still hitting 120Mbps. It is unusable to write data to; it takes 10-minutes to write a 2MB file. Owned for one and a half years.

This is the second Sandisk USB thumb drive that has died on me. And my last Sandisk purchase.

Kids can watch 2 different movies in the back and it is compact enough that I don't have to worry about knocking into it and destroying it or the usb port.

My last three vehicles there was no need for such a device. After a recent purchase of a Land Rover Discovery Sport I painfully realized that their technology package does not include any media storage space, but it does support a USB thumb drive. Now instead of 20GB I am running down the road with my entire music catalog.
