They are very strong and can definitely hold the weight mentioned in technical specs. I used these to place Bose AM 6 speakers.

I was looking for a pair that could flank my dinning room table,contemporary,but sleek looking,and they look just fine. The base could use a little more weight for stability ,and the height adjustment screw on my pair wouldn't be able to withstand a lot of height changes. For my use it looks good, and works just fine.

A decent if clunky alternative to wall mounting.
